Honestly I have not had one to really look at. Watching that video I am wondering if the plan is to make the XR the “standard “ and not a upgrade at some point.
Thats actually surprising. I could see then adding a bolt on bracket but changing the housing bracket is a pretty big deal. They will need to stock two rear axles, not to mention Rubicon vs non Rubicon. I wonder if they did it on all of the models.
I would have to 100% agree with raising the rear track bar to change the roll center. Unfortunately that is one of the most overlooked thing when lifting a vehicle or even adding weight up high. It was also the biggest contributor to improving the ride after lifting mine. I wouldn’t go much more...
Can you see what the control arms do in the video? I hate to say it but I have literally replaced everything on mine twice with different brand stuff and it still does it and has become full blown DW. The only thing that has not been changed since it started was the Clayton arms.
By the looks of it these are pretty close to that. I would be very interested in the length from zerk to zerk on the drag link if you were able to get that. It would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone ever seen a through shaft stabilizer do this? Zero resistance for 1/2-3/4” then it gets firm. Doesn’t matter where it is on the shaft. Centered, off to the right, off to the left, still has the same dead spot.
It was sent into Fox and checked out.
If they are slightly bent they can be repaired if they are damaged in any of the collapse zones they need to be replaced. It will actually change air bag timing in another collision. I have done several and I would not consider it a DYI job unless you have an accurate way to measure the...
Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for! Looks like I will be pulling springs and cycling this thing a few hundred times. To add one more part to the show it has the ATS stabilizer so it also has the reservoir on the stabilizer to deal with.
Anyone using a FOX through shaft stabilizer with it relocated on top of the tie rod and the Yetti stuff? Installing everything for a guy on a gladiator and with all the clamps under there it doesn’t look like it’s going to clear everything.
With this all being said I feel the answer to some, not all, of the DW cause on the JL is actually the distance from the centerline to the center of the projected contact patch of the tire. Also why some have it and others don’t. I think the “window” for that measurement is actually very small...
You Are right. I had to think about it for a second but yes. Negative does project the contact patch in front of the center line. And positive is rearward
100% agree with every word of this. Unfortunately most will argue this till they are blue in the face that you don’t know what you are talking about. You are spot on.
