Good on ya. I could say I retired due to health but I still work for the joy of working. I do need to get back to the ranch life...wife says I will die with either a Chainsaw in my hands or on the seat of a John Deere...alright by me!
I run right now, 35s on my 2024 JL R-X. I have no issues with clearance. IF I put on a lift it will be the JL 392 take-off I picked up for $500 bucks with shocks, springs etc. I can run 37s on that albeit I am not likely to...my retirement years in Florida the wheeling out here is NOT my cup...
Unless your Jeep is for show leave off the 4.5 lift. 3-3.5 is all the lift you need to do any trail and I have done them all, I hope and think.
As for the warranty on a lift kit, not sure why they would warrant it to begin with...I broke it doing Pritchett Canyon driving in reverse...send me a...
Generally speaking 30 min on a diesel would start to push you into excessive. Its not because the diesel runs hot, so don't flip your hood, that is not it.
In the diesel world excessive idle causes "wetting". Diesel likes to run hot and fast (rpm) when they don't the diesel does not combust...
I am still rather perplexed on the front axle wheel hop on a modern Jeep. There is another thought and that is the front axle disconnect. Are connected only on one side of the axle...If you send power in 4 wd and one side is locked and the other is not, that would be a 'cause IMO.
You are doing RIGHT. Moab is a Jeepers dream. In Moab you have trials that run form 1 - 10
Have fun!

Good on ya!
My wheelin Jeep was a 2 dr and I took out the passenger front and the back seat, cooler to my left and a stack of clothes. I often was gone 2-3 weeks at a time. The pass footwell was the odds n ends you might need to access while traveling.
Since I had a gasser I could let it...
I got a call from a guy in Maine and I was in Dallas. There was a 54 Corvette for sale in Dallas and he knew of me in the Corvette world and asked if I check out that 54 Corvette and tells him if I thought he could drive it back to Maine thru Florida. He offered me $200 bucks and I turned that...
I drove nearly 5 hours to look at a TJ R in excellent condition and no problems ran great.
I get there and I drive out on the street and got DW so bad I could drive over 10 mph, so I turned around and went back.
OK, DW, Yea, sure I can FIX THAT!
Jeep had been hit in the spare tire and it...
If I were you I would go with a take from the 392s w/35s. ALl the components are OEM and they will give you all the lift you need here in FL and still get out to Moab and do some of the more difficult trails at the 6/7 level./
The cost is LOW!
Lifter click: WOW was I happy when Chevy moved to HiPerf Hydraulic lifters. So somehow the Bowtie boys and the folks over at Mustang Ville and others have designed a Hydraulic lifter that will work way beyond 7k all day. But Jeep cannot pull it off on an engine they have been making for more...
What I see is many mfgs are trying to fix something that is NOT broke! Camshaft and rocker arms are not new science here folks, noting to see here, it works and works up to 7000+ rpm and lets see: 64 Corvette, 327, 375 Hp solid lifters, sold at 103XXX miles, 69 427 450 Hp solid lifters, sold...
Well have have dated more than a few wenches in my single years and some were in fact douche bags, so if I was you I would stay away from the wenches and douche bags and stick with a good Winch who won't let you down on your first date if you know what I mean...you want a gal that has pull. A...
GOOD WTF GRIEF!
My first car with Hydraulic lifters was in 1974, before that all I drove was Corvettes (4) Solid lifters, HiPerf engines, revving to 7000 + RPM and I was racing them on weekends. Never had a cam failure (or any engine failure other than some broken valve springs, about 6 of...
