  1. Shuddering sound at 70mph

So my Jeep has been through a bunch... I'm noticing that I get a shuddering sound when I decelerate at 70mph. I don't really feel anything mostly just hear a noise. If I back off the throttle slowly, no shudder. I have the Mopar 2" lift which netted 3+ inches back in 2022. I regeared my...
  2. Took it in for 19A recall, need a transmission now

28,000 miles on my 2021 JLUS. I took it in for the 19A recall and when I picked it up it was rather difficult to shift into first. I assumed it was a linkage problem and took it back. According to the service advisor all of the linkage is internal and now I’m on the waiting list for a...
  3. Tire Size Recommendataion

So, I have a 2021 JLUS 6MT that I've just regeared to 4.56. After I break in the front differential I am going to put new tires on it. What is the maximum size I should go with factory wheels and the 2" Mopar lift which netted me about 3.5" on my very stock JLUS.
  4. Auto Stop Start Disabled, Gear Display Blanked, and Reverse Cam doesn't come on.

So, I've regeared the rear axle and the first test drive went great, no grind, no whine, smooth accels and decels. During test drive after the first half mile, my auto stop start threw an error, gear display blanked and the reverse cam doesn't go on. Restart the Jeep everything works great...
  5. Could someone please check my patterns?

I really think this looks good, but would like a 2nd opinion. It is not rubbing the heel or toe of the gear and is deep enough but not rubbing the paint off the base of the ring gear. @chevymitchell
  6. Master Rebuild Kit Part, what is this?

Most of the parts of the Dana 44 rebuild kit are self explanatory, but what is this used for? It is some sort of blue plastic pin, looks like it is for setting something up.
  7. Pinion Shim Value

So, here are the etchings on my old pinion: Here are the etchings on my new pinion: As I understand it, these are both zero pinions and use the same shim as factory and it is behind the bearing race. @chevymitchell
  8. Backlash measurement

I'm new to gear work, could someone check my work. I'm planning on pulling the carrier and pinion tomorrow but wanted to check the backlash on the factory setup to learn to use my tools. I took a few (a lot of) rounds setting up the dial indicator. Every decent setup I had showed 8...
  9. Regear Jack Stand Points

This might seem like a silly post but when regearing my axle is it fine to place the jack stands under the axle tubes? I don't know if there will be any flex from the weight as I set up my gears. My jack stands aren't quite tall enough to get under the frame after the lift. I'm going to put...
  10. Jeep Positivity!!!!!

There are a lot of negative threads here, lets show some love for our rides. What about your JL wrangler has impressed you the most or has been a positive surprise? I'll start with a positive surprise. I bought my Wrangler as a mid-life crisis toy and expected it to be a total POS quality...
  11. Florida Life, soft top for the autumn and winter.

This may seem counterintuitive to the rest of the country, but I just stored my hard top and restored my Jeep to its original soft top for autumn and winter. #FloridaLife
  12. 4L in soft deep sand

This weekend I was pulling a trailer through deep Florida powder sand. It was a steel trailer with an ATV on it and it was quite the pull with my stock ATs. I have the 6 MT and saw 3-4K rpm for a couple hundred yards or so. The 4L "speed limit" is 25MPH... Is that due to the engine speed...
  13. Jeep Wave Overfill?

I'm going on a trip tomorrow and I checked the oil on our Jeep and it was clearly overfilled during my Jeep Wave oil change. I think it is the typical 1 quart overfill. Any thoughts on how bad that would be if I ran my 400 mile trip on an overfill? I've already put 3000 miles on that oil...
  14. Jeep Wave Oil Change (complementary != free)

So, I took my Jeep into the dealership for Jeep Wave oil change #2 (I know ). Jeep Wave #1 went well so what the heck. Well, I get home after doing things around town to check the level and such like I always do when I don't change the oil myself. I could barely get the hood open as...
  15. SiriusXM Limbo, "How Low Can They Go?" (Pricewise)

I just got off the phone with my friends at Sirius XM. I'm sure we all play this game, where the promo rate ends and we call to cancel and get a better deal after noticing the upcharge on the credit card statement. So what are the best prices you've been able to get on which package before...
  16. Transfer Case Issue 2021 Sport 6MT

My transfer case never felt "right" in 4H as it would lock into 4H nicely and perform well but every once in a while it would indicate NEUTRAL after some wheeling but clearly be in 4H. I'd bump the shifter over and back to 4H and it would correctly say 4H. A few weeks ago I was at Citrus and...
  17. Installing Mopar Lift (with pictures)

I know that I'm going to get a bit of drama for this post, but here I go. :) Yes I've searched the forums every night for the last 2 weeks. I've lifted my Tundra for weeks before by the pumpkin and putting the rear axle on my old school Sears Craftsman 4 ton stands that go to 17 5/16"...
  18. Jeep Politics (Not Political) :-)

So, I wanted to start a non-political thread on Jeep politics. Topics where there are limited to no middle ground where both sides are firmly encamped. I'll start. I think it goes without saying "no politician politics", please. Angry vs Happy Jeep I'm totally in the camp of "Happy...
  19. Neutral light in 4H

So yesterday I was in 4H moving very well. And the NEUTRAL light was on, I was clearly in 4H. I moved the stick to the right and back to the left and it said 4WD again, not NEUTRAL. Any thoughts on this?
  20. Hardtop Electrical Harness Part Number

Does anybody happen to know the part number for the electrical connector/harness on the vehicle side of the hardtop connection. I'm not looking for the conversion kit, just the mating electrical connector for the Jeep side of the connection. Edit: I've looked through the mopar parts websites...
