Here is the situation:
2019 JLUR - 4.10 stock gears
8 speed auto
3.6 v6
2.5" MC GC lift
35x12.5R17 MT BB ATs. 37s are off the table for the simple reason that the Jeep on 37s' will not fit in the garage, and my Jeep lives in the garage.
Steel front bumper with winch to come (+75 pounds or so)...
Put the Mickey's on the Jeep Wednesday.
Put the MC GC 2.5 lift on Thursday.
Chalk test tires today.
I ended up at a tire pressure of 26psi to get an even chalk test, and even that still had a bit of chalk near the edges.
Seems a little low to me, but I'm going with it for now.
Just curious...
Tires were mounted on my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon on 9/22/22. They have 20,491 miles on them. They have been religiously rotated every 4k miles - 5 tire clockwise rotation. I ran them at 33psi on road and 18psi off road.
Original tread depth per BF Goodrich website is 15/32nds.
Tire 1...
I am putting together the re-build of my 2019 JLUR. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a CavFab Elite tire carrier. On their website, in example pictures, they have this beautiful solution for carrying Rotopax fuel/water cans. Does anyone have any idea what mount is being used on these two...
Starting this thread to track the changes over time.
Back in March, 2019, I was in a built TJ and had no plans of looking at the new Wrangler JLs. Then a couple of things happened. Grandson #1 came along and I got to thinking a back seat in a more dependable vehicle was going to be nice...
After 5 years of ownership, my 2019 JLUR is finally getting ready to go thru the transformation... lift, wheels, tires, bumpers and tire carrier.
I've got a Motobilt Hammer front bumper coming, and will be ordering the CavFab Crawler full length rear bumper and Elite body mounted spare tire...
I'm looking at adding the CavFab rear tire carrier to my Jeep. I will be keeping the rear license plate down on the bumper. I'm looking for a rear camera mounting solution that mimics the stock spare tire mount in that the camera mount is on a "pass thru" mount - you don't have to disconnect &...
In all of their infinite wisdom, my company has decided that my 15 year work at home job is being transitioned to a hybrid at-home/in-office model. As luck would have it, the closest office to my home is a pleasant 46 miles that runs diagonally across the entire DFW metroplex. It's gonna be...
Saturday, Sept 23, 2023 - DFW to Albuquerque
Four friends and two Rubicons left my driveway at 5am Saturday morning. Really light traffic on the way up to Harrold, TX, where we linked up with four more friends and two more Rubis. Stopped in Amarillo for lunch at the Coyote Bluff Cafe - a...
Long post - Picture intensive.
We took our annual trip to Silverton this year in late September hoping to time it right to catch the aspens in turn. When we arrived, most of the aspens were green. When we left, most had turned gold. We missed peak by a week, but we got to watch as fall took...
I am looking at adding some power to my 19 JLUR 7" UConnect system. I've figured out the components and parts needed. New speakers are already installed. Just need to add the PAC AmpPro, the amplifier, and the powered sub.
I'm trying to stay away from the additional $230 for the JL Audio...
1 - Is there a breakdown anywhere of how many Wranglers are built by COLOR?
2 - When ordering a Jeep, does your color choice come into play in how fast or slow the build process happens?
I custom ordered a Mojito! JLUR back in late April, 2019, got caught in the three week plant shutdown...
So I'm working with a dealer today to order a new JLU Rubicon built out the way my wife desires - Hellayella with 3.6L v6, 8spd auto, black hard top, and 8.4" radio package. The dealer went to put the order into the system today, and the system spit back that GXD - Remote Proximity Keyless...
Just picked up my ordered JLUR. I did not order the LED package from the factory and have mixed feelings about that. I am in the process of changing out the halogens all around to LED bulbs.
Headlights - Went with the Beamtech 10K bulbs from Amazon. These will be here today and installed...
Just so you know where I am coming from...
I drove a firecracker red 2001 TJ that I was building from 2015 to 2019 when I decided I "needed" the new JLUR. 4.0 liter inline 6 with 5 speed manual on 4.88 gears (30 front and 44 rear). 3.5" Metalcloak full lift - springs, shocks, arms. 285/75/17...
