It's the most produced engine, so you have the most options in terms of choosing a vehicle
Because it's been in production for so long, most of the issues with it have been hashed out to this point
This the 'vanilla ice cream' of Jeep engines - it's the baseline of what almost...
Reviving this thread because I was looking for something for my diesel since I recently moved to the CO mountains. Turns out the 4xe guys have this problem as well, and they created this cover system that looks a lot nicer than the mopar or FIA one. I'm about to purchase to run on my diesel...
My KO2's are just getting low enough that I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. I've heard the XT's are excellent in the snow, but I'm a little worried about road noise. The KO2's are the quietest "off-road tire" I've ever run.
On a personal note, I've moved out to Colorado! I towed a fully loaded uhaul double axle trailer from DC to Silverthorne CO, and the diesel handled it incredibly well. I averaged ~18mpg overall which to me is shocking.
Here are some pics off-road near my new home! Lots more to come.
Some new changes on my diesel! I decided to fully split my fenders front and rear in preparation for 37's since my 35's are getting low on tread. I was able to trim up my AEV rear bumper pieces to match the lines of the split rear fenders, and I think it turned out great! I might rip off the...
Wanted to post a followup here in case anyone else ever tries to do this. I was able to successfully do what @Gregj did, and I'm now running the SOT and hard top interchangeably! What I needed to make that happen:
OEM JL windshield header trim for a hard/soft top. I got mine used off ebay...
Running into an issue I'm hoping someone else has solved, but I haven't seen it anywhere. The volume will randomly jump up (or down) 5 seconds after I come to a complete stop while driving. If I manually move it up or down after, it goes back to the normal volume level it's set to. I'm...
Bringing back an old thread here, but do you happen to remember where you got these? Is this just a standard size holder that should line up with the steel bumper holes?
Yes, you can; I've done it many times without issue. If you're above 80% full it will notify you to keep driving in order to regenerate (even without an idash or extra gauge). This is crossposted from the 1500 ecodiesel forum:
The ecodiesel is programmed to make many repeated attempts to...
I bought a replacement 2024 wrangler header panel, and they have this newer plastic trim piece that goes in the center that my part didn’t ship with. I have this part 7EB82TX7AB (number 2), but I’m missing the piece circled below. I can't find it on any diagrams; anyone know what that trim piece...
I agree! I have thought about just running a sunrider, but since I already have an SOT I'd rather try two tops and see how much of a pain it is. I picked up a color matched hard top for $1300, and if I find I don't want to keep swapping I'll probably just ditch the SOT. The one other thing I...
I tried putting a wind fairing on a few racks I’ve run and unfortunately it does not. It ends up creating a low pressure zone behind the fairing and causes the same noise pretty much.
