I incorrectly 'believed' that the dealership mechanic did a less than adequate job updating my JL clutch recall and fried my radio/video display during the reprogramming.
It's taken 5-months for someone to tell me that the PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE IS CORRUPT, and that's what caused the radio/video...
You have my greatest sympathies. How wonderful my Jeep originally shifted and how sloppy the original clutch engaged. Now it's all reversed. GREAT clutch action, but getting it into 1st, 5th and Reverse on a regular basis is the challenge.
I hope you have better luck than I. I took my JL to...
I'd be interested to find out how your radio/video faired. I love the shifting point, so much better than the original clutch assembly. It's a solid feel and strong clutch engagement, no more guessing. I have 4k on the recall clutch upgrade.
Thanks for the info! I grew up in Jersey. Long Island is not out of the question if I can't get this resolved. The inconvenience of driving headlong into insurmountable traffic is better than having a 2-year old vehicle that is dysfunctional. It's not out of the question. Is EVANS4X4.com his...
Seems like some factory trained mechanics can do the job correctly and some Jeep owners are pleased with the results. But there are a lot of us disgusted with the Clutch Recall outcome. Apparently too many 'factory trained' Jeep mechanics ignored their training, never followed the step-by-step...
You would wonder. The Dealership also said it has nothing to do with the clutch replacement. It only shows that the dealership is technically brain dead and it probably trickles down to the mechanics. I showed them the Stellantis instructions for the clutch recall. But here's your answer...
I could NOT be more disappointed that I had the 19A recall performed. Clutch engagement is fantastic. Now if only it would shift into gear. Reverse is out of the question, 1st and 5th are a nightmare. The Jeep used to be fun to drive - not a headache. If I could go back to 'before' I...
I wish I avoided the recall! The original clutch engagement was way too light and tough to pinpoint, but shifting was butter smooth. Put 35K on the original clutch and had the Recall performed by my Virginia dealership. I had them show me the parts. At 35k the clutch & pressure plate were...
Not likely. The button designations are different. I understand there are a dozen radios (most of which are unavailable) for my Jeep. I purchased the most minimalist audio system available when I ordered my Jeep as I'm always running without my top and my AirPod Pros do a great noise...
Thanks for the shoulder. I agree. I would never buy 'my' 2022 JL in the condition it's in. I'd trade it in at the dealer who screwed it up, but they won't consider a trade in until the radio (the radio they shorted out doing the upgrade) comes in and gets replaced. Been waiting 3-months and...
I did what I could, within my ability, to get my 'Recall Clutch Replacement' to return to pre-recall shifting operation. Clutch operation is great - shifting is terrible. Can't get it into Reverse without forcing it, 1st & 5th always miserable shifting - everything I read in the above...
RADIO FAILURE WITH A19.
Completed my A19 Clutch Recall upgrade five weeks ago and I LOVE IT! It works so well I'd gladly sacrifice my radio for the enhanced performance and functionality (but wish I didn't have too).
. . .but I get ahead of myself. My radio did not survive the...
I'm unable to access your link. But here's my 2-cents:
I have a 2022 2-door Wrangler and all three door handles were initially solid and fixed in position, functioning properly. Lately, they have begun to pull away from the outside of the doors when the outside handle is actuated.
My local...
This will work:
My father was a master craftsman. He created cabinets for a living, in our basement, with dove tail joints & glue. No nails or screws ever joined the beautifully grained woods together.
None of his skills rubbed off on me!
It depends upon your skill level, or in my...
. . .I sure wish I knew BEFORE going to a bad dealer which dealers were bad. Unfortunately, I have NEVER been fortunate enough to have had a good experience buying a new vehicle. The way the salespeople rush out to greet me, I must have 'mark' flashing across my face. Let me be specific - My...
Thanks for the input. Those items I can do without. The places I generally end up don't have cell service anyway. I wish my iPhone could get a connection via satellite like my Garmin. That would be a good reason for a security program which could track my vehicle should vanish.
Yes, I have the Tow Truck and SOS, but tracking the Jeep (via LoJack or BrickHouse) proved impossible where I WOULD worry about theft and those things. Lake Moomaw (border of West Virginia & Virginia), Adirondack & White Mountains of Vermont are cell sketchy at best.
Thank you for your input!
Thank you for your expedient response! Aside from the loss of remote locking my doorless Wrangler, GPS and the radio, I still have the basic functions.
I've never used the screen in 17k miles. Just didn't want to lose the standard operating stats.
Thanks again.
I've been searching the “Electronics, Electrical, Uconnect, Nav, A/V, CB, Comms, Cameras” for some time, but well short of the 161 pages. I’m sure there is an answer to my question in the Forums, but I’m hoping someone can offer a quick answer:
My free year of Guardian expires this month.
