The body shop said they’d charge $250.00 to do all the flares. They specifically use Rhino which he said doesn’t have a ton of flex. Not sure how this compares to a Kevlar coat or others used.
The black, factory fender flares on my Jeep are dinged up and faded. A body shop nearby does Rhino lining and I wondered if anyone ever had there fender flares coated in this. I guess the biggest issue would be flex of the fender which could cause cracking.
There’s a group on FB called JL Corrosion. I’ve been reading dozens of posts regarding part replacements do to the paint issues. Apparently, some say the hoods, doors were completely replaced while others said just the skins. Many who had the skins replaced complained of the door seems not...
Yes thanks! After sending this to the dealers body shop they quickly responded that they WILL be replacing the hood along with the doors. I haven’t asked them yet but I assume the hood hinges will be replaced as well?
Thanks for the assistance. I sent a link to the most recent TSB to the dealers body shop. Given that they repaired the hood once already ( last year )and the bubbling came back I simply stated that this notice clearly states a “touch up “ will not suffice. It seems me sending them the notice did...
It’s definitely NOT do to any chips at all. Also, this is the second time they’ve repaired bubbling at the edge of the good. This is good info provided on the TSB. Hard to argue given they’ve fixed this under a claim once before.
Keep hammering them. It’s disgusting how this company handled this issue. I can tell you with 100% certainty that much of the decline Jeep sales is due to this very issue. Incompetent management.
‘20 Rubi JL. After having the hood edges and door hinges replaced over a year ago the issue came back. The bubbling is all over the door edges. Luckily, the doors are being completely replaced in December. Jeep will NOT replace the hood unless there is a hole in it ( rusted through ) I am told...

To help everyone.. I have a ‘20 2dr Rubi that had paint bubbling on the hood edges as well as door hinges. The dealer repaired the paint issues only to come back several months later. The dealer replaced the hinges with a protective barrier this time ( between hinges and door). Again, months...
