  1. Hill descent control in the snow

Not in my Wrangler but on my Commander I used it on a snow and ice covered section of trail. The Commander wouldn't let you set the speed and I always felt it was a bit fast for my liking, but in that situation it feathered the brakes better than I believe I would have been able to and got me to...
  2. Jeep JK falling off Black Bear Pass

  3. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Yesterday (10/18) I was coming off of the trails in Colorado. Just as I got back on pavement outside of Montezuma I was passed by two Ford Bronco Warthogs in full manufacturer camo. You're only going to Montezuma if you're heading onto a 4x4 trail so I flipped around and gave chase. I caught up...
  4. WuHu Flu mask hanger

I use a buff. When this whole thing started I already had a couple anyways so I figured good enough. I don't know how much good they do but nobody has ever pestered me about it. Looks like they have ones to hold a filter in place now, if you wanted. In the Jeep I have a 67 Designs single ball...
  5. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

    Too soon... RIP Harambe
  6. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Fake news. That windshield is still up, not nekkid.
  7. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

I might be missing a detail here, but would you be more comfortable if you swapped the vehicle locations and parked the Jeep, nose first, under the top? If you have just attic space above your garage it looks like that hoist would be easy enough to rig up in the attic with holes for the cables...
  8. 4xe order thread

Has anyone shown the range of an EV offroad? Seems like it would drop, quite a lot, while wheeling. I am just the opposite of you, at least for the foreseeable future I would always prefer to have an ICE on board and am happy with somewhere around a 40 mile range on EV. But my reasoning is the...
  9. Car/Jeep Swap

Could probably use Turo to rent each other's vehicles.
  10. My Jeep fire extinguisher saved a vehicle last weekend

Aren't fire extinguishers a great way to ruin a vehicle? From paint damage to corroded aluminum to ruined electronics, it's my understanding that using a typical fire extinguisher on a vehicle rarely "saves" the vehicle even though it may put out the fire. My fire extinguisher is for people and...
  11. Tailgate Key Lock Missing

Really? Have you looked at cars and SUVs lately? Wrangler is a hold out on having manual access, most don't have a key hole and most also use an electric actuator to unlatch as well. Hell my 2010 Commander didn't have a lock or manual latch, neither does my Toyota. This isn't new technology.
  12. Where to mount E-ZPass on driver's side?

Here in CO we have the option of a sticker tag (about 1 inch by 3 inch, paper thin) or a more traditional style transponder which has a switch to change between toll or HOV. For the Jeep I went with the sticker tag due to its small size, it seems to be more water resistant (one has survived on...
  13. Transmission kick-down --- Geez!!

I went into the dealer planning to buy a manual. All of my Jeeps had been manual transmissions and I've never liked the automatics I've had in other vehicles. After a test drive though I was convinced that the auto was the better option, it's always in the right gear it's shifts quickly enough...
  14. Springtail folding tailgate table

Do you have a photo of your cord setup that you would be willing to share? I'm interested in possibly replicating how you have it done.
  15. COLORADO JEEP PEEPS

If you want some elevation, some mining ruins, and a trail you can do alone Mount Bross is a good one. It's easy enough that you won't need someone to run with you and climbs to 13,790 ft ish. I say ish because I am not positive where the trail truly ends. I stop where trails offroad says it...
  16. New member/windsheild issue

On my old Jeeps I just threw an old towel on the ground and carefully leaned my doors against the wall. That worked great for years. Be sure to roll down the windows before you start taking the doors off. For some reason I keep forgetting this and I go to lift it off just to find the glass in my...
  17. EZTrunk looks interesting

I have the diabolical slipstream in my 2 door and I'm loving it. You do have to get used to the fact that the Jeep will become a two seater, but I believe the EZ Trunk will have a similar issue. Even though it's almost always just me in the Jeep and the back seat is always out of it, I still...
  18. New member/windsheild issue

Lower the windshield, less likely to take rock impacts that way. Bought my Jeep in May 2019, so far no chips or cracks. People here have had a different experience than I have. Maybe I'm lucky, maybe others speed and tailgate. Over many years driving Wranglers I can say that I find the vertical...
  19. Wrangler Involved in Crash (Shoved) Into Motorcycle Cops

Trying to do a burnout. I don't see that passenger side taillight on the Taco ever change and when the middle taillight enters the view it's on so I believe they were on the brake. Reving an auto in neutral, slamming in D left foot braking while on the gas with the right foot to do a big smokey...
