  1. What are these for?

Only if you have Adaptive Cruise as part of the Advanced Safety package. That's the big box behind the rear view mirror that needs to be covered, and of course that's only when the windshield is folded down. 99% of Jeep owners will never use that cover.
  2. I can’t freakin decide! HELP!

You had me at "Help!" and then lost me when you wrote that color-matched bumpers were the deciding factor for you.
  3. Which packages are worth it for Daily Driver use?

A couple of things: -I love the 8.4/Alpine. It's a fine audio system and I don't want to tinker too much with the radio to get good sound. -The LEDs are excellent, and when all is said and done, comparably priced with aftermarket options. -The Cold Weather package is great, and I use the heated...
  4. Deals in NY? And are dealers required to honor the Tread Lightly 1% below invoice membership benefit?

Where to start... Do not buy on Long Island. Even if you get a deal you can live with, they will know nothing about your Jeep, and will almost certainly jerk you around with financing and warranty. When I was shopping, I found 1 dealer who was worth talking to (Merrick DJCR)and that was on a...
  5. What are these for?

Kinda wondering where I called anyone a name? I inquired as to whether the snowflake comment hurt (clearly it did) and wondered where the "notorious" handle originated. Also, never said I was a prof, that was our friend from the great white north who made that assumption. I do find it...
  6. What are these for?

Wait, you're Canadian? Sorry we missed your Thanksgiving last month. Also sorry you had to close your border with us because Americans are offended and intimidated by the educated and lash out irrationally. Good to see that doesn't apply to you. Plus, there is no charge for awesomeness. Or...
  7. What are these for?

I liked the turkey puns (though I didn't get the "caught" one), and even the "roast" one here isn't bad. I'm happy you took the time to look at my profile before you got unreasonably angry at a silly forum post, and I'm sorry if the snowflake comment hit too close to home. Perhaps being a...
  8. What are these for?

Here it is, late fall, and already I see the snowflakes melting...
  9. What are these for?

Hey, cops wear their sidearms off duty, I use grammar off duty. I'm glad mine was a victimless crime and nobody got butt hurt over it.
  10. What are these for?

I know what you mean. It's like being an English teacher reading forums full of people who supposedly speak English and not knowing which "their" to use. Makes me laugh every time...
  11. How much????? Insanity

Agreed. It will require many "options", but all in it shouldn't be more than $5-6k over a comparably equipped 2.0t.
  12. Buying new Jeep? Defeat the big dealer system

Yeah, but... This forum is all about educating buyers in the custom order. Buy off the lot if you can get more than 5% under invoice and you're impatient and they have EXACTLY what you want. Otherwise, just order from one of the many, many dealers who go 5-8% below invoice without haggling and...
  13. How much????? Insanity

Then why respond to mine? Confusing but unimportant...
  14. How much????? Insanity

I'm not at all clear on what you're saying. I'm comparing the 4xe Rubicon with a non-hybrid loaded Rubicon. $63k-ish for the 4xe loaded (which it looks like it will require) compared to $57k-ish for the non-hybrid variant, which was the msrp for my Rubicon. That's roughly a $6k difference...
  15. How much????? Insanity

The 2.0 turbo PHEV (ECX) is the 4xe powertrain. It's listed on the left side, not as a separate option. What's messed up about the options list is that so many items there are double listed, like "Steel Bumper group" and "Steel Front bumper" and "Cold Weather package" and "Heated Mirrors" and...
  16. Recommended Dealers List

Just pulling the leg if someone who flouts the sponsorship rules on this forum by advertising new Jeeps for sale without paying for a sponsor membership like all of the reputable dealers here do. Glad you could save a few bucks. I hope you pass those savings along to your customers by going at...
  17. Recommended Dealers List

The way I want it? With a bullet-proof 6 speed, Dana 60s, on 37s with a Metalcloak Game-changer and 5.29 gearing, all under factory warranty? All for under $50k? You are a good and generous soul.
  18. Recommended Dealers List

So, I'm assuming "all the fixin's" for a 2dr, 80th Anniversary puts you in the $44k range, msrp. There are many dealers within a days drive that will go 5% below invoice, which would save you about $4000. Please cancel your order with these d-bags that won't budge on msrp and order elsewhere...
  19. Can I still negotiate this? And what are some tips and tricks?

Um...what does that have to do with my post about Remote Proximity Entry? The Jeep configurator is often wrong/out of date. I recommended the RPE to the thread-starter, but it looks like it's not available with his build. Since he's custom ordering, the Jeep site is months behind his build options.
  20. Can I still negotiate this? And what are some tips and tricks?

Looks like they only offer Remote Proximity with the 80th Anniversary edition, or if you order either of the expensive dual door options (and they list pushbutton start as a requirement, but where is that even an option? )
