I'm glad you asked that question. Actually, I'm thinking NO! Here's why:
Your coolant temperature is very much going to be associated with ambient temperature and will fluctuate seasonally, as you say. However, oil temperature is a very different beast. A vehicle's oil temperature is something...
I've made mentioned this discussion over at the JEEP HACKING CAN-C / CAN-UDS ! (Reverse Engineering) thread.
The idea I had was that we could arrive a since Average Engine RPM figured based upon data already collected by the BCM for Oil Change Statistics. By using Engine Revolutions (since oil...
Here's a project, potentially quite interesting, which I've had in the back of my mind for a while now, but no way to pursue it, as I don't have a Wrangler 4xe. So if someone who's digging around in this CAN bus traffic also has a 4xe, this might be worth looking at.
It started with a...
Where did you find or how did you arrive at the Tx and Rx address of each Module? Is it from the spreadsheet (first post on this thread), or does this come from another source?
Someone described the protocol to me once, but I remember enough to know that it won't be the same (but uses a standard configuration which you can match with your adapter settings). I believe it uses the longer address ID format, but what speed and other settings, I do not know. Hope this helps...
Insightful post, thank you! If they're trying to distinguish between this being a fuel problem and something else like cylinder wear or control ring wear, they're going to want to use a boroscope to continue looking at the problem from there. I've got a shop appointment next week, and they said...
A few comments on the video...
ANGRY EYE GRILLE
Almost all replacement grilles are cosmetic. It's the exception where you find one that has functionality that goes beyond integrated turn signals or light bars. Examples of those would be the ORACLE Lighting grille (w/headlights) and the carbon...
HA! It'd be a mind twister, but if it happens, I'll let you know.
I held my tongue earlier, but I visited the dealer yesterday. Mind you, I wasn't asking for them to make an offer. But it seems that quite a few people liked exactly what they were seeing while my vehicle was parked near some of...
HA! I wholeheartedly understand that some of those here would never believe just how many great responses I get during a week from people who just come over to tell me that they like my Jeep. As universally positive as all the responses I get happen to be, it ends up being just the right amount...
From another thread, I made some long overdue update to the spreadsheet which tracks all the things I've done to my Wrangler!
Here might be more than a few ideas to comb through...

I forgot to add my Blackstone report, thank you for the reminder!
FIFTH OIL CHANGE (24K MILES) AND MY FIRST OIL ANALYSIS REPORT (BLACKSTONE LABS):
This is longest I've waited between oil change intervals (6.5k miles since my last change). Yet this isn't the most fuel dilution I've seen so far...
Hi! Not OP here, but I'm adding my personal update to the discussion:
I talked with my service advisor earlier today.
TL;DNR: Local dealership (very experienced and well regarded) calls this an uncommon issue (never seen by them before) on the 2.0T engine. Not going to be treated like some of...
If figuring out the size is going to be a problem and a few extra bucks aren't going to kill you, there's also the Parts department at one of your local dealerships that can get you an exact replacement with none of the hassle of finding the right fit. ?
Just a phone call away to get started.
They are common enough parts, easily replaced. The cost, I don't know.
There's someone here on the forum that he can give his vehicle's Make/Model/VIN, and a part description to, and in this particular case, where in the vehicle you've found them (just to be safe). They'll shoot back an offer...
To clarify:
You're wanting to replace just the CAN bus connector itself (20 or so open connectors), and you're not asking us for anything regarding the individual CAN bus lines, right?
You're after both a green CAN bus, and a white CAN bus, correct?
I'm interested in switching to 5w-40 oil.
Which engine do you have, and do you have any engine oil reports or something that might shed some light on how it has been as far as wear goes?
