  1. Differential oil change

I did my rear differential today at just under 15,000 miles. I have the 220 RBI (D44) with the LSD. According to the Amsoil website capacity is 3 pints and calls for 2.37 oz of Mopar limited slip additive. Old lube was BLACK and I had the expected metal fur on the magnetic drain plug. No...
  2. Metal flakes from first oil change

I've been using Blackstone for over 10 years. I order the free sample kits from the website then just include payment when I send it in. I don't bother with TBN since I'm not interested in extended oil changes. When I take a sample I put the sample container into the oil flow about halfway...
  3. Extra Gas Carrier

I bought Blu Bi Kong's mounting plate. I like it. Here is a link to an install thread I did.
  4. Metal flakes from first oil change

Some metal in a new engine is normal. The slight ticking you hear with the hood open is normal too. My engine has done it since new. I have even sent a couple of oil samples off for analysis and they were great. 14,000 miles now and no problems. Enjoy your Jeep.
  5. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

I don't rock crawl or play in mud but I did buy my JLU with the intention that it would spend a lot of time off road, exploring the Nevada desert. There are better vehicles suited to daily driver use but my Wrangler fits the bill nicely for what I do and will go anyplace I'm brave enough to go.
  6. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Got my recall letter yesterday. I called my dealer service department today and was told no parts are available. I was put on a waiting list.
  7. Upgrading from the 5" UConnect3 to 7" UConnect4?

Thought I would add my 2 cents. I recently bought a 7" with Sirius from a forum member. It was from a 2020 JLU and went into my 2019 JLU Sport. I already had a Sirius antenna installed because my previous radio was a 5" radio with Sirius. Anyway. Installation went fine. I initially had a...
  8. New York Rubicon Dana 44W Axle Package ,Rubicon big brakes, Drive shafts , Extra bonus Elec Sway Bar !!!

Great price for the works. If you were on the left coast I'd have them.
  9. Another Member JLU Collision Report (with video)

You never know. This may be the wake-up call. I arrested a gent early one morning for DUI. I saw him about a year later. I expected him to give me some grief, instead he thanked me for saving his life. OP, glad your wife is okay. Hopefully the other driver had insurance and will work with you.
  10. Coolant Temperature

That seems a bit warmish to me. I sometimes tow a small travel trailer here in NV and keep a close eye on temps going uphill. About the hottest I recall seeing last summer was around 225 before the fan really starts working to get it down. Going downhill on the other side the temp will drop...
  11. Need Help! Oil everywhere!

Keep in mind a lot of oil is going to be pooled on the engine and may make it seem like you still have a leak.
  12. On a in the bit of a budget, big picture is there really much difference between oil brands?

I'm a bit of an oil geek and have been on Bob is the Oil Guy for years. I've come to the conclusion that any quality oil that meets specifications will be fine and your engine will never know the difference. I have a 98 F-150 that's had Walmart Supertech brand oil for over 250,000 miles. When...
  13. The Pentastar Loves to Wring its Filters Out!

Interesting. I use the Mopar filters and have not noticed any twisting. I also use Rotella Gas Truck with good results. I have a UOA or two posted on the sight.
  14. Uconnect radio 7”

Radio received and looks great. Thanks again.
  15. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

It would still be a licensed and street driven Jeep. My Jeep spends a lot of time exploring the desert. There are times when a Rubicon drive train would be handy without the expense of a Rubicon. Just make the Rubicon drive train on option on the lower end Jeeps. Thank You!
  16. Jeep invites you to the first ever Jeep Brand digital livestream roundtable

Great idea and thank your for doing this. Any thought to expanding options? For instance. I use a Jeep like a Jeep and like them to be as base as possible, manual door locks. windows, etc. I would love the option of being able to order a basic JLUS and have the option of ordering Rubicon...
  17. Start/Stop Unavailable, Service Start/Stop System

Kinda what I'm suspecting. Not even a year old. Yesterday I had my Odyssey battery charger on it for most of the day. I'll have to keep my eye on the charging system voltages and see what it's running.
  18. Start/Stop Unavailable, Service Start/Stop System

Last year shortly after buying my new Wrangler JLU I started see this message. After seating the fuses and relays in the TIPM it went away. Maybe coincidence. Recently it has started again. Usually the first start of the day. If I restart the Jeep the warning is gone and won't come back...
  19. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I've been wondering if the hydraulic slave cylinder seals would handle the increased pedal pressure from the Centerforce clutch. It will be interesting to see if anyone else has problems.
  20. Aftermarket Clutch Options?

A dual mass flywheel with a dual disk clutch. The Rube Goldberg engineering is strong in these Wranglers.
