I did my rear differential today at just under 15,000 miles. I have the 220 RBI (D44) with the LSD. According to the Amsoil website capacity is 3 pints and calls for 2.37 oz of Mopar limited slip additive.
Old lube was BLACK and I had the expected metal fur on the magnetic drain plug. No...
I've been using Blackstone for over 10 years. I order the free sample kits from the website then just include payment when I send it in. I don't bother with TBN since I'm not interested in extended oil changes.
When I take a sample I put the sample container into the oil flow about halfway...
Some metal in a new engine is normal. The slight ticking you hear with the hood open is normal too. My engine has done it since new. I have even sent a couple of oil samples off for analysis and they were great. 14,000 miles now and no problems.
Enjoy your Jeep.
I don't rock crawl or play in mud but I did buy my JLU with the intention that it would spend a lot of time off road, exploring the Nevada desert. There are better vehicles suited to daily driver use but my Wrangler fits the bill nicely for what I do and will go anyplace I'm brave enough to go.
Thought I would add my 2 cents. I recently bought a 7" with Sirius from a forum member. It was from a 2020 JLU and went into my 2019 JLU Sport. I already had a Sirius antenna installed because my previous radio was a 5" radio with Sirius.
Anyway. Installation went fine. I initially had a...
You never know. This may be the wake-up call. I arrested a gent early one morning for DUI. I saw him about a year later. I expected him to give me some grief, instead he thanked me for saving his life.
OP, glad your wife is okay. Hopefully the other driver had insurance and will work with you.
That seems a bit warmish to me. I sometimes tow a small travel trailer here in NV and keep a close eye on temps going uphill. About the hottest I recall seeing last summer was around 225 before the fan really starts working to get it down. Going downhill on the other side the temp will drop...
I'm a bit of an oil geek and have been on Bob is the Oil Guy for years. I've come to the conclusion that any quality oil that meets specifications will be fine and your engine will never know the difference.
I have a 98 F-150 that's had Walmart Supertech brand oil for over 250,000 miles. When...
It would still be a licensed and street driven Jeep. My Jeep spends a lot of time exploring the desert. There are times when a Rubicon drive train would be handy without the expense of a Rubicon. Just make the Rubicon drive train on option on the lower end Jeeps.
Great idea and thank your for doing this.
Any thought to expanding options?
For instance. I use a Jeep like a Jeep and like them to be as base as possible, manual door locks. windows, etc.
I would love the option of being able to order a basic JLUS and have the option of ordering Rubicon...
Kinda what I'm suspecting. Not even a year old.
Yesterday I had my Odyssey battery charger on it for most of the day. I'll have to keep my eye on the charging system voltages and see what it's running.
Last year shortly after buying my new Wrangler JLU I started see this message. After seating the fuses and relays in the TIPM it went away. Maybe coincidence.
Recently it has started again. Usually the first start of the day. If I restart the Jeep the warning is gone and won't come back...
