  1. Driving on snow and or ice on interstate roads

Hummm.....or he does not possess the finesse to modulate the throttle. Even at appropriate speeds if you jam the go pedal your rear end will not be happy. P.S. I really don't understand why people are concerned with increasing acceleration (asking about lockers, 4WD/AWD, etc) on...
  2. Driving on snow and or ice on interstate roads

You must be talking about your Jeep, not my Jeep. My Jeep has a "modern AWD system with a clutch pack" in 4HiAuto, OR a traditional full time 4WD in 4HI/4LO. As a matter of fact, in most overseas market all Wranglers are sold exclusively with what you call a "modern AWD system".
  3. Poll: Bubbles in Paint??

Yes, but how do I get a Jeep dealer to take on the job?
  4. Poll: Bubbles in Paint??

(cross-posting as I'm running out of time to have this addressed) The two closest dealers to me (Fairfield County, CT) both claim they have no body shop or ability to deal with corrosion. Called Jeep and they said I have to work with the dealers. I'm in a catch 22. 36 months warranty expires in...
  5. Experiences repairing the infamous paint bubbling / corrosion

The two closest dealers to me (Fairfield County, CT) both claim they have no body shop or ability to deal with corrosion. Called Jeep and they said I have to work with the dealers. I'm in a catch 22. 36 months warranty expires in 2 months. Can anyone suggest a course of action to get things...
  6. ESS Battery Cable Change

I have a 2021 (new style). Can I move the winch ground to one of the body ground connection points, so I don't need the non-stock looking connectors? (Jeep is still under warranty, I don't want to give them any excuses). Thanks.
  7. New brake design? Cannot replace just pads?

Boy this is the weirdest brake thread I have ever seen. So all new brakes warp from normal use, so we all need to unmount and machine/turn our brand new brakes that come in our vehicles. OMG! The s$@# you read these days. And people are still talking about turning/machining commodity brake...
  8. DEATH WOBBLE. I'm now a victim.

it's amazing how after all these years people talk about DW as black and white. DW on a JL is simply a probability game. The JL setup, and that means ALL setups, regardless of how many expensive components you buy/install, has one or more resonant frequencies that if hit/excited can result in...
  9. Jeep stops taking orders in Gas 2.0l ?

I'm not surprised, given that Jeep was always constrained in 2.0 engines (that is why they never stopped screwing around with availability and forcing things like e-torque at times). Now, the Compass switched over from the ancient 2.4L I4 to the 2.0T (detuned) - so get ready for supplies of the...
  10. I REALLY NEED SOME HELP

Excellent choice. I have a set in the garage just waiting for a bit more wear to put them on.
  11. I REALLY NEED SOME HELP

Jumping in here late. A few people gave you good advice. Many, though, are focusing on nonsense. Lift: A Mopar "2 inch" lift, yields approximately 4" lift on a JL (non-Rubicon). So don't waste time arguing with people spewing nonsense. It is a decent lift for you. Clutch Operation: Seems...
  12. Fuel tank exploded!

Glad Jeep and everyone is OK, but some scary comments in this thread. "I've been driving this set up for 2 years, so it can't be the [purposefully omitted engine conversion]". Ever heard of cumulative damage causing parts to fail over time? That is pretty much how the majority of automotive...
  13. Article: Jeep's Deep Problem (too much inventory; people don’t want to buy Jeeps)

I wish that were true, but there are other categories of persistent failures. 1 - Axle locker sensor issues failing at high rates on Rubicon, up until recently necessitating a complete axle replacement. 2 - Harness issues (from chafing, bent pins and other shorts) causing all sorts of weird...
  14. Bad experience w Northridge4x4 anybody else?

I read a news story today that even Amazon will start charging for returns. I know that this is not the case with the OP, but some people really abuse the free return process. I see people order a bunch of different tools to see what they like best and returning the others. Same with closing -...
  15. Axle Locker Sensor issue officially has a fix! Repair kit released

Pull the cover and have someone engage the locker on/off and see it if tries to actuate it or not. - You can also try to measure the voltage at different points of the harness, connector, solenoid to see the changes from on/off. May give a clue where the issue is. Good luck. Your problem seems...
  16. Axle Locker Sensor issue officially has a fix! Repair kit released

Thanks for taking the time to post - good to have as much info as we can in one place.
  17. Artec Alpha Series Bellypan Release

Congrats on the install - it is a great feeling when it is done. I wish my Artec skids still looked as good as yours - I have some well earned gauges on mine. (not a criticism of the product - performed well and as expected - just looks well worn :))
  18. STEERING END TOUCHING RIM

The only thing that can be aligned in the JL is the toe. Camber, etc is not alignable. First make sure you have the right tierod. Sport vs Rubicon have different axle widths and different tie rod widths. It is also possible that your tierod is bent (making it shorter) causing the tierod ends...
  19. Axle Locker Sensor issue officially has a fix! Repair kit released

Picture and part number for the harness, by any chance?
  20. Artec Alpha Series Bellypan Release

It's simple really. Just get some metallic HVAC tape and temporarily place it around the edge of the Artec drain opening - like a lip barrier. The oil stream will hit the barrier and drop, instead of running over the pan. Off course zero chance of a dealer doing that, but next time I may put...
