  1. Heat shield between exhaust extension and floor? (Hot rear passenger floorboard)

When I redid my exhaust, I put a MBRP muffler right behind the stock resonator. There was not a heat shield there so I added in something similar to this from Amazon. Really easy to just stick to the underneath of the tub facing the exhaust pipes. On the inside, I switched over to Armorlite for...
  2. RockJock Tow Bar Mounting Kit for JL/JT - CONCERNS?

Depends on how much weight you have added to it. Really easy to check the weight at a truck stop like Love's or Flying J. Make sure you use the cross bar between the two Maximus loops. That seems to be the biggest help against the tow hoop spread that happened to many of us that had their...
  3. RockJock Tow Bar Mounting Kit for JL/JT - CONCERNS?

I got that number from weighing it on a truck scale (without me in it)... Heavily modified with steel bumpers, rock rails, beadlocks, 37"s, full skid plates, hardtop with full liner and Kilmat, drawer refrigerator, storage rack, rear encloser, subwoofers, OBA, tools, etc. And only going to get...
  4. North Carolina 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 (Currie 60s - Atlas - 6.4 Hemi)

It is tough to get credit for anything more than the blue book on the cost of the vehicle. Few banks will take into consideration the addons. Otherwise, it would be a great option for someone looking at a new 392 as you can get this for close to the same price already built without the bright...
  5. North Carolina 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 (Currie 60s - Atlas - 6.4 Hemi)

I can't open up Facebook without this one popping up. Whomever is marketing it is really getting it out there. Certainly can see the value in the build and imagine OP is taking a big hit at this price. I hope you find someone with the cash to be able to buy it as they will not get a loan in that...
  6. RockJock Tow Bar Mounting Kit for JL/JT - CONCERNS?

People flat tow all the time off of just D rings that are not even welded through the bumper... The challenge is most of the people I see towing that way also don't have a breakaway system setup either. My JL is 6,200 pounds and I did not want to risk it.
  7. RockJock Tow Bar Mounting Kit for JL/JT - CONCERNS?

Jeep does not recommend towing from those four bolts. Not sure if there is something behind that with the Genright setup to brace the end to the frame or not. If you look at that part when the bumper is off, you will see that it is not very thick metal and as others have mentioned, supposed to...
  8. Purchased used CPO 392 - concerned

I doubt they will agree to financial compensation, they probably will not take it back either. You would most likely have to take them to court and I imagine there is something in your paperwork that states the vehicle is "as is" ultimately covering them for the fact that the engine was...
  9. RockJock Tow Bar Mounting Kit for JL/JT - CONCERNS?

Agreed, while Maximus took a long time to get it right, their design is better/safer than any I have seen other than the Blue Ox and Roadmaster but both of those really hang low.
  10. WIN an ARB AWNING & ROOM

Followed on Facebook and Instagram! Would love to win! Thanks for the opportunity.
  11. Purchased used CPO 392 - concerned

Which dealer swapped out the long block? If it was the same dealer you purchased it from, you should have a case to get your money back. Either way, lesson learned to always ask the dealer for the repair history. The VIN would surely show the engine change in their system as it was done by Jeep...
  12. Tap into power tail light for camera

Not sure any of those come on with the ignition vs. having to run the parking lights all the time. Most of the newer rear view cameras have wiring to come back to the source to gain power. If you want it on all the time, just run the reverse wire to the hot wire. I ran mine back to the radio and...
  13. Armorlite floor no longer a build option on Jeep website

I wonder if Armorlite could not keep up, or possibly they could not make it work with the margin Jeep wanted to pay them for it.
  14. Battery issues and How to test 48V eTorque Battery?

Not sure if you are leaving your car key in your car overnight or even on a hook near the car as that is not recommended by Jeep. If the fob is too close to your car, it can continue to communicate with it, which could drain the battery. We stopped leaving our keys in the vehicles and that...
  15. My story of the failures of the rear Dana 44 and why I think it has been unreliable for me.

Weird that it would get that hot, fluid might be low. I just checked mine out of curiosity after driving on our 75mph tollway here and it was not hot to the touch at all.
  16. Jeep Dealer Claiming Oil Pan Dent Cracked the Engine

Tell the insurance company whatever you want, just be prepared if you tell them that you don't know when it happened, they may come back to you and say it is a Jeep and you could have been off-road it when it happened and therefore we are denying your claim... Or, the dent must have been there...
  17. Jeep Dealer Claiming Oil Pan Dent Cracked the Engine

It is in your best interest to state that you hit something that was moving, like a tire/wheel off a vehicle or some debris that fell off a trailer. Let them know it was on the freeway and there was nothing you could do to avoid. You waited to pull over and then saw the damage. If the object was...
  18. Jeep Dealer Claiming Oil Pan Dent Cracked the Engine

I believe they are stating that the impact that cased the dent was great enough to crack the engine. Complete BS as you would have to hit it a lot harder than that to crack the engine block. Even if the oil pan was leaking, the loss of oil did not cause the engine block to crack either.
  19. Bestop Half Door Option

Those have been out forever... They are fine for around town, but suck in the rain and at highway speed. I had a set and ended up selling them and buying the OEM half doors. I also have a set of ACE half doors that I rarely use, but they look cool... The problem with the ACE doors is that I tow...
  20. Jeep Dealer Claiming Oil Pan Dent Cracked the Engine

At that point, the insurance company has performed the investigative work for him and he would have a much better chance of a case in court. Plus, he would not have to pay for the professional second opinion. This would give him a much better shot at winning, if he lost at that point because...
