As I said above I have a 2022 JL sport, stock. No lift, no lockers. I switched out the michelin street tires for a set of Nitto Terra grappler AT tires. They are 1 inch wider and have a more aggressive tread. I live in flatlandia. Galveston, TX. Closest hill is a 5 hour drive. Not much...
The upper doors pulling out at 60mph is just an air pressure thing. My solution was to leave the top horizontal part of the zipper unziped. I'd just zip up the sides.
What this does is allow the top horizontal part of the zipper to be pulled outward and allow the air pressure to leave the cab...
Anyone have any experience renting a jeep in Cancun?
and FYI - they have an offroad park in the jungle with ATV rentals, zip lines, centote lagoon pools.
But I don't really want to drive a SXS. I'd rather drive a jeep.
I live in Houston. We have a great stretch of beach you can drive, and 30 miles of an old washed out beach road that is closed to normal traffic but just fine for a Jeep
We have NASA, fantastic food of all types, top notch museums, a couple of national forests, a big thicket huge marsh Caddo...
My engine temp held steady at 194 for a year.
now it’s swinging up to 210 sometimes.
of course it’s bloody hot in Texas which probably has an effect.
what is normal?
how high is alarming?
should I let it run to cool the turbo before turning it off?
… after highway driving?
….. after short city...
In the lowly sport club we have M186/Dana 30 front and M200/Dana 35 rear with open differentials.
We are the low cost entry into the Jeep club.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has installed a lunchbox, Aussie, or Torque locker in either front or rear and how do they like it?
TORQ Locker Dana...
I'd like a bit more ground clearance ... not that we have any rocks here near Houston, but we do have floods and height = water fording.
But... and this is a big but (and I cannot lie) - I spend most of my time in sunrider mode and I can currently drive in and out of my garage without closing...

I will be in Charlotte, Archdale, Ashville, and Greenville the last week in June on a business trip. I'm adding a couple of extra vacation days.
Is there an outfitter that will rent me a jeep and give me a trail map?
Alternatively - are there any easy forest road trails I could drive in an AWD...
I'm curious which reasons moved you to a Wrangler vs. other options. It's not all about rock crawling (for which the jeep obviously excels), so I attempted to compile a list of features in a Wrangler that in combination were unique for me which is why I bought one. And then I list all the...
If you get the sky one touch retractable hardtop it has a really cool feature.
the side windows remove just like they were freedom top panels.
Id love to have this on a normal hardtop.
I’ve seen JK where a guy cut his hardtop and made the sides removable.
anyone else done it?
With the windows stored behind the front seats they hang flat. Orientation is important. The plastic C pillars are attached to the windows so you want to put the bag in where the pillars"wrap" around the front seats as shown in the photos. Note, once you hang the bag you can't really fold the...
Full 2-Piece Fabric Doors Jeep 2020-2022 Gladiator; 2018-2022 Wrangler JL - Bestop | Leading Supplier of Jeep Tops & Accessories
I like going doorless at the beach and around the island. But the 45 mile drive from home to the beach is a bit blowy (aka not fun above 35 mph). Plus if we get one...
At home depot yesterday I saw a 3700 lb boat trailer hand crank winch with 33 feet of cable - anyone have any experience with manual winching?
- yes I know my jeep weighs 5000 lbs. That's why God invented the pulley. Two pulleys rigged properly, and you cut the load in 1/3
- plus as long as...
Woman dies while hiking Big Bend National Park trail in Texas
Cause of death isn’t known yet. But it was 97 degrees so heat exhaustion is likely.
When wheeling or hiking in the desert drink lots of water...
The DIY part is the fence board I used which allows me to attach the plastic traction boards to the wooden board and the wooden board to the mounting bracket. Much less expensive than the metal mount it solution you can purchase.
UPDATE - purchased the rock slide engineering strap for holding...
I’d like to make a compact tool kit. What sizes do I need?
what tools do you carry and why?
Where and how do you store them?
I think I am liking the roll tool bag. Never had one. Looks compact.
oh, and I have a two door and I keep the rear seat so space is at a premium.
