Hey! So, I’m a perfect test case for you. Because I’ve done something “stupid”, and I’m happy to have done so.
I have a Willys with 38 Milestar Patagonia’s. So, 38’s on 3:45 gearing with a 6-speed.
I have zero issues with stalling, in any gear, 2H, 4H, or 4L.
I do only have a 4-speed...
That’s true, but the setup is so solid there’s zero shaking even without any bumpers. I did put in an extended one on the drivers side for peace of mind, but I really don’t think I even needed that one.
I have this setup and it is great. It’s a full tailgate hinge replacement and it is very sturdy. My 38’s weigh in at 112 lbs and there’s no rattling or shaking whatsoever. Plus the 38’s fit with the stock bumper too with an inch or so of clearance. And it looks good.
Good luck with your sale!
hey, yep it’s still available. I went with the rugged ridge HD tire carrier kit, mostly because it came from the same guy I got the wheels and tires from and they are 38’s, so I was concerned about weight. If I’d stuck with 35’s this bracket would have been fine using the stock carrier.
This is the model for use on Jeeps without backup sensors, it raises the spare tire bracket 2.25 inches (versus 4.75 inches for the other model). I guess if the bigger tire is too low the backup sensors detect it as an obstacle.
I ended up never using this, I got a full hinge replacement...
Hey all, I bought a set of Spidertrax wheel spacers to scoot my wheels out after installing the wider Rubicon fenders on my Willys. 2000 miles later I ended up getting new tires and wheels with the right offset to not need the spacers anymore, so here they are.
Local pickup in the Pasadena...
Compared to your Micro bumper, looks like there’s a little more width at the top on that model, is that correct?
Could you tell me the dimensions of that lip or step that you get at the top of both this and the micro bumper?
Also, are both in stock or just this newer one?
Dang, the Willys gets the 8.4” radio as an option. That’s the one upgrade I wanted but couldn’t get when I ordered mine in November. But, no more punk’n, so I’m happier that I got the color I wanted vs a larger screen I can add later.
I really liked the look of the high top painted rubicon fenders, especially with the LED turn signals to match the LED headlights that come on the Willys. So, I added them. Here’s what I did.
First, I sourced a used set of painted fenders off a Rubicon. They were $400 on Craigslist, in good...
