  1. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

This is normal for the factory track bar. Get a heavy duty aftermarket one and enjoy.
  2. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Adjustable steering stabilizer helps. Medium setting on my TF Falcon feels good .
  3. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

I sincerely hope that this TSB becomes a recall at some point. My steering is 100x better after the fix. Think about all those jeepers out there that are not part of this forum that are dealing with crappy steering. Without a recall, they will likely never know about this TSB...
  4. Steering Fix TSB 08-074-20 Crowdsourced Dealership Survey. Add Your Experience.

Dealer Name: Capital CDJR of Indian Trail City, State: Indian Trail, NC Date Taken In (for evaluation, not specifically to do the work): Did not take in for eval, called advisor about the TSB and they could see where I had commented on the issue previously. Date Completed: 9/14/20 Did you...
  5. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Another happy camper here... Best way I can describe the difference is the steering is now more predictable. I had previously adjusted on my Aluminum gear to where I had very little dead spot. However, the result was stiff steering with no return to center and a bungee effect on really hot...
  6. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Does anyone know if an AEV Procal Snap has to be unmarried before the software update like the Tazer? Update: Nevermind I found this in the Procal manual: “The ProCal SNAP does not record the changes into your vehicle’s history with FCA/Jeep. Any Warranty or Recall that requires a...
  7. no winch solo - the DeathWish™ poll

Sorry gents, I’m of the old school mentality that you don’t have an off-road machine without a winch. That being said, they are a waste of money running the trails in NC. Edit: And yes, I wasted the money.
  8. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I am shocked that this is the case, but my dealer ordered the part for me without even coming in. So I can confirm this is happening without an in person visit. More info: I have had it in once before for steering, and my jeep is a little over 1 yr old with 9k miles.
  9. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Sorry if this has already been shared, but I found this fellow Geeker/Jeeper. He does a great job of explaining what’s going on internally. I had no idea so much was happening just to turn the wheels :CWL:
  10. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Awesome! Thank you! So the circle in red is actually what’s being adjusted to make the teeth tighter/looser because they are tapered?
  11. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Surely the play in bearings alone can’t cause the major steering play (differences) being reported. Do you think the people with perfect steering have a combination of the least tolerance value and are adjusted with tight gears? Also, just trying to educate myself, are these bearings...
  12. Yellowing on driver side painted factory flare

No, it only is an issue on the plastic parts. I tried to get them to replace the grill with another one direct from the factory in white, but FCA would not approve that. My dealership did a really good job, and I can say I have no concerns with the longevity of the repaint. I would suggest...
  13. Yellowing on driver side painted factory flare

Welcome to the white Jeep JL gang and the thrills of yellowing paint! Yes, this is extremely common. More common however is the yellowing of the grill starting in the upper driver’s side area. Luckily FCA is willing to pay for painting under warranty. I had my 2019 grill repainted in the...
  14. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Good lord! The Eco Diesel runs $70,000?!?! Too rich for my blood.
  15. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

About how many miles do you have on the AE box?
  16. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Interesting. Did the paint pin marks change location at all from where you adjusted them to the first time? Or were they right where you adjusted them to?
  17. Loose steering feels like it has play and drifts

Funny you mention Volvo’s... On my wife’s XC90 there is an option in the center display/radio that lets you increase or decrease the heaviness of the steering. Maybe Jeep should add this option... The only difference would be the description. The options would go from Driveable, to Holy Sh#^
