  1. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

So I ordered 8 GAUGE COPPER wire and the 50 Amp Anderson-style (knock-off brand) connections from Amazon. I did connect this wire to my Jeep's 40 amp auxiliary fused, switch that came with my trailer tow package. I located the Anderson Connection near my winch inside the front...
  2. Prescott Arizona Area in December?

The Table Mesa Road is a long way from the OP's starting point. But.....worse news is that that trail is currently closed. Better check before you go. Lots of other trails closer to your point of origin.
  3. Prescott Arizona Area in December?

You could take the Senator Highway to Crown King. Nice trip and lots to see. Not sure which direction I would go back......but may want to go to Cleator (extra cool Bar to visit) and then Hiway 17 and north to then return to Prescot. Would be a long day tho. Alternately.....go back the...
  4. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

The answer is "depends". Normally here in the desert......I can easily fill three but the thermal overload will kick in and put me out of biz before I get four in. Thus why I use the spare tire to fill tire number four. I suppose in cooler temps I may get four filled.....but that...
  5. Mounting a Smittybilt 2781 Compressor?

The table shows that for 15 feet of wire that 8 gauge would be a good choice.
  6. Mounting a Smittybilt 2781 Compressor?

I was contemplating this same thing after reading above. But I have the SB # 2781 Compressor and it has a max draw of 45 amps. Thus the weak link in this chain would be the 40 amp fuse and switch in the Jeep. Not good IMO.....and I dont want to learn this the hard way. Rethinking now to...
  7. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

I'm glad you asked. I have a SB Model 2781. It has a max draw of 45 amps. So, my plan to use the Jeep's 40 amp switch and fuse are now over. I will need a fuse and terminals to go directly to the battery. Sorry guys......I made a mistake and "assumed". More investigating to get...
  8. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

One thing about your plan is.....if you have a JLUR with the tow package......then you already have a 40 amp switch that is fused. I am certain those wires are available to you under the hood.....but they may also be available inside the cabin. I think they are. If so - far easier...
  9. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

I'll be doing this project pretty soon. I'm making a road trip to Southern Utah this week, and have a shopping cart loaded with the right stuff on Amazon right now. From what I have read (I need to check this data) my compressor draws 35 amps and the wiring on the compressor is 10 gauge...
  10. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

I dunno. I see this as a big time saver for me. Sometimes it's snowing or sometimes it's pretty hot here in the desert. I want to air up and get going ASAP.
  11. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

Next thing I want to do is to get set up with some ten gauge wires from the 40 AMP fused switch in the rubicon to an Anderson QC to power my compressor at a location near my winch. That way I dont have to open the hood and fool with those battery clamps. I like plug and play stuff. Time saver.
  12. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

In the past few days I got my Jeep ready for a trip to Utah.....starting on Thursday. Found a couple things that I did are helpful to me and thought I would share. The pics below show how I use the speedflate to fill two tires at a time I use a big rubber twist tie to quickly attach the...
  13. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

Got to AZ today from MN. (were retired "snow birds"). My Speedflate two-way kit was waiting for me......TYVM. Changed my Smitty Built QC to the USA std. QC couplers and went to work getting all my tire pressures back up to speed after the hot weather.. Used the Speedflate system to air up...
  14. Testing this out. ryobi cordless air compressor

By all means try this......and make a YouTube video......and do it in a remote, wilderness area for some drama effects. Oh.....and better bring a communications system in case you need to call for help. Grin.
  15. Rough country skid plates

After reading many threads.....I tend to agree with your idea's on the gas tank skid......at least for my purposes. I decided to go light......because that is the way I wheel. I don't recall ever seeing a thread on someone with a punctured gas tank. (?) And......I do more "sploring" than...
  16. Nitto Ridge 35s Optimal PSI on JLUR?

Been running mine at about 30 PSI. Good post.
  17. ROUGH COUNTRY ENGINE, TRANSFER CASE AND GAS TANK SKID PLATE SYSTEM

I like the looks of that Rough Country engine / tranny/ transfer case skid set up. (san's the gas tank skid). I think this could be the kit for me too. For you guys that have installed..... I have a question on points of install along the sides. I have the Rock Hard Sliders that bolt to...
  18. ASFIR Engine & Transmission Skid Plate Install on a 2020 Jeep JL Unlimited Rubicon 3.6 L Automatic - Install Video

Looks like a good solution for a lightweight skid. I'm sure you will save lots of folks from some frustration due to lack of instructions. I think I am leaning toward another solution....but this seems like a good low cost solution for many.
  19. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

LOL.....yeah....maybe. But it sounds more complicated than it is. Also saves on overheating my compressor and waiting for it to cool down for the last tire (which is what typically happens with these low-cost compressors). I'm kinda limping by on that Smitty Built for now. Time will...
  20. Speedflate air/down system is legit!

I air down to about 15 lbs and back up to 30 lbs on my 35" Ridge Grapplers. I'm getting the two tire set up rather than all four. Thinking I may fill my spare tire (35") to 50 PSI.....and use the dual line and my spare to re-air one of my rear tires. Then use my Smitty compressor to fill...
