That makes sense. Build the vehicles, get them out of the way to wait for the Software. SW always takes longer.
Being an Engineer, and knowing that this is a Design Change, you are looking for major sign-offs in the Jeep Hierarchy. They need to make sure it not only works, but is safe...
That's great news. So, if the Tracker is messed up, folks should be able to ping their dealer ship, tell them they heard the Tracker is messed up, and get a better Status on their vehicle.
I can't do that because I've punched out of my Order.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm at 4,400 checks. Order in Dec of 2022.
They will build the MT vehicles, except when exactly it will be at the dealership is really unknown. They have to solve the issue, or just insure they really solved it, because they will use that MT for the 2024s.
I...
Also, I think Stengaaa and I discussed this following thought, maybe they don’t have the MT fix/part yet, and decided to build the remaining 2023s to make room for the 24s, and hold on to the 23s until they have the fix. Then install and ship?
just a wild guess.
From what I’ve inhaled in this Forum, it usually only is a few days to build on average.
That’s why we all understand the Estimated Shipping Date we get when it goes to “D1” is really the Build date. Then the shipping date is usually a day or two later, hence the Estimated Shipping Date...
From the NHTSA web site, only vehicles built 16 Feb and earlier are no-sale until fixed. If you went into production after, your vehicle will have the remedy for the MT.
The start Date is August 23, 2017.
Yea, they were good through the whole process. Told them I’ll be back when it’s time for another. Perkins Motors, Colorado Springs.
I got my Cherokee from them in 2021. My wife and daughter have bought vehicles from them in the past too.
So, there will eventually be a 2Dr MT White Rubi on the...
I punched out of my MT order a month ago because of the recall. Dealer gave my deposit back.
The recall and unknown fix status whenever the vehicle might arrive (later than even lengthy deliveries), was what they were OK with when I told them I wanted to punch out.
Since you ordered after the Recall, and your now in Production, you should have a good vehicle coming your way. That's assuming that all the MT vehicles that are now in Production, have a brand new/different MT installed.
Feb 16 was the date they stopped production on MTs. If your vehicle wasn't in Production before then, I would think your OK. Unless, they gave up on finding a solution soon, and placed the "Recalled" MT into the vehicles to build. I would hope not.
The following is the quote from the NHTSA...
