  1. I can literally see the Milestar Patagonia tires wearing!

I tried to rub them today after a 20 mile drive, nothing rubs off.
  2. I can literally see the Milestar Patagonia tires wearing!

-420 each, I really don’t have any basis of estimate for target mileage. I am hoping for 15k, we have gone a dozen road trips from so cal to the Sierras (dusy, rubicon, shaver area runs), most of the (pre Corona), I would drive stock rims and tires around town and trailer my stickies and beads...
  3. I can literally see the Milestar Patagonia tires wearing!

for what it is worth, I rum maxxis creepy crawlers 37’s with 1” sidewalls, mfg spec 35psi. I called the engineering team to share my lack of contact patch (rounding) at that psi. They confirmed the caulk method and suggested a 22psi for highway use and 8 psi for off-road use. I have used and...
  4. So Cal folks going to PM4X4 Annual Memorial Weekend Run to Stoddard Wells?

Not sure.. the face book post makes it sound like a club run, I talked with Jarid (point magu 4x4 pres) he said i was welcome and it was an open event, even though i am not a member.. super nice guy.. I will go on his run if I can't find something in the Sierra's (first love :) )...

So Cal folks going to PM4X4 Annual Memorial Weekend Run to Stoddard Wells? We are thinking about it hard, as it is the only recreational event open. AKA Dispersed camping..

  8. Wrangler JL plug in hybrid release date

Thank you for posting great content.. this confirms my gut.. this another EPA mandate design, nothing real... what hell can you do with 13 KW FCA! not much.. oh wait... but go can go 0-60 in 6sec... what they did not say is you can do that once.. maybe twice, then your out of juice... Come on...
  9. EV / PHEV JL Wrangler Rubicon will go 0-60 in 6 seconds says Jeep President

Completely concur.. but how about portal axle design incorporated as well.. in the old days twin I-beam via Ford was an interesting design for "straight axles".. think of four electric motors, portal axle (Uni-mog), with the twin I-beam.. sorry just dreaming about what could be possible...

  11. Tire comparisons, Owner ratings chart. What's good and what's hype

I was thinking the same, but I found several threads on getting a stick or rip with the Milestar (i.e. litebrite) thus I have narrowed to Treps or Razr @ 40" for my general purpose tire.. leaving my 37" creepy's with bead locks for the tough stuff (dusy etc).. still thinking... the extra weight...
  12. 37 x 12.50 vs 13.50 tires

Sorry about that... I want to run 40's, not sure I can with out major rubbing.. Just wanted to find if anybody else tried to run 40's with a 2" mopar lift.. I do have airsprings in back which allows me to push the rear up a couple inches, loaded or not.. Thanks in advance.. TC
  13. 2.0 turbo vs Pentastar V6

Whether we agree or not is irrelevant, the science in this space is settled facts... In not "convincing" … it is data and facts.. and it does not matter if its 100 hp or 1000 hp..a Jeep or a weed whacker... Fuel is a key variable to be managed if your trying to optimize performance. "The...
  14. 37 x 12.50 vs 13.50 tires

Great thread.. can we talk 40's with the same width.. I run 37 maxxis stickies on the hard trails .. but I am looking to do 40's x 13 for basic minor trails - street... with a mopar lift.. wondering if anybody has made that leap... thoughts?
  15. 2.0 turbo vs Pentastar V6

Actually.. with the JL 0-60 (low 7s everyday) are much better with higher octane due to the 11:1 compression.. if I run lower grade fuel in my CJ6 with a old school 440 with 11:1 it bangs and knocks really bad.. On the JL there is noticeable performance difference.. smoother.. much more low...
  16. Finally did a chalk test on 37s

I run 37" Maxxis Creepy crawlers (trail only for the most part).. I started at 37.. noticed the crown and lack of full contact patch.. Called Maxxis engineer, he said for the JL weight and 10 ply x 1" thick wall, he suggested 20-23 depending on how aggressive I was on the street and 5-10...
  17. COMPARISON - 37” tires

It seems to me it depends on what your trying to do... meaning in the CA area if your hitting hard trails it is always a compromise.. no tire will be good at any one thing.. For me I chose Maxxis for the trail tires and I will run what ever is cheap and looks ok for the street - mild trails...
  18. Diesel JL Wrangler Sounds and Sound Comparison to 2.0L

Great point... I guess it depends on what your doing with your Jeep.. I am not sure I would like the clatter in the deep sierras.. i know - driven diesels for many years.. Last summer was a hoot as we idle over trails, top and doors off with barely a noise from the v6... To be honest.. I am...
  19. Start of 3.0 Production

It's heavier than that... TFL weighed it in 5080 exactly the same as the gladiator.. but the time you add the necessary options, it will be 500lbs more than the 3.6 equally equipped...
