Sold mine during the pandemic 5 months after I bought it because of form. Resale prices were so high I didnāt lose much money on it but it was really frustrating. Hope Jeep figured it out. Let us know how it goes.
Kearney Mesa is the other one. I was surprised it was the field tech that told that to the Jeep rep and said to take it to Perry. Guessing he hasnāt seen the best work coming out of those shops.
Did a quick look this morning and no leaks
The coolant leak that I didn't know about also explains the smell that I just attributed to the new engine burning stuff off. Hopefully that goes away after a few weeks and then I will be all set.
Definitely sucks to go through all of this...
Okay, just got the jeep home... it is pouring rain here in Socal, so I wasn't able to crawl under and look yet. Here is what they discovered:
1. Coolant leak due to a coolant clamp that was improperly installed from the factory.
2. Transmission Oil pump leak (Improperly installed or seal...

Which is why I post on here... obviously not getting the full story here. The Jeep case worker did say they would be putting an extended warranty on the vehicle but did not state exactly what and for how long yet.
Not eligible yet... if it is still leaking when I get it back this time I will insist. So far Jeep and the new dealer are being very careful, saying things like, this is why there is a warranty.
Today's update is the jeep needs a new oil pump. Being told there was a manufacture defect that didn't allow it to seal properly. Parts are all on order and hoping to get it back late next week. Still concerned that issues may crop up later because of not just the problem but also things being...
Update #6 - got a call yesterday that the leak is actually transmission oil/fluid but it sure looks like oil to me and after 2 trips to the first dealer... who knows. At this point they have no idea where the leak is coming from and are going to essentially tear apart the engine and transmission...
Update #5 - Took the Jeep to a different dealer yesterday. The Jeep rep spoke with the field tech and we were going to take it to one dealer and he told her the same owner, owned that dealership as the one that couldn't fix it already and recommended a different one. So... drive extra miles to...
My email to the Jeep CEO Christian Meunier, got me a phone call. Star Case opened and waiting for them to get us setup to have it looked at by a field tech.
According to the dealer the field tech only comes to their dealership once a month, so they are trying to get us scheduled, that was 3...
Wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but the amount that is there after wiping it all down underneath and driving it for 4 days, no way is it residual. :swear:
I can tell you that really did piss me off. Lived in this house 4 years and didnāt have a spot in the driveway until now. :punch: Will keep everyone updated on the situation.
