I keep eyeing the AEV bumper/ carrier, but that $2500 price tag hurts. The westin, albeit a lower product, is a much more attractive $1500, and includes everything I want. I just fear having to powder coat it in a few years or the carrier hinge becoming loose.
It’s time for me to get serious about throwing 35’s on, and need to finish the prep work to make it happen. I’m still trying to decide between using a swing out tire carrier (specifically the Westin swing out bumper) or reinforcing the tailgate and using a separate bumper.
The Westin has all...
I mean, you SHOULD…… But I didn’t with my 2m/70cm radio. I just did a direct connection. My 10m radio is wired to my aftermarket relay station, and any time I go in there I disconnect the main supply from the battery, but leave the batteries connected. Mainly because it has a 100A service and...
No etorque. I have an early 2018, it’s just a gas engine.
I’m equipped, comfortable and competent to do the physical part R&R, but have not done one with this modern design. I’m still beginning the research on the project, but was initially expecting to be able to bleed off of the thermostat...
It’s unfortunate that this is a common problem from what I’ve briefly read. Radiator leak on the drivers side where the plastic meets the aluminum. That said, it is a relief to finally know where this 1/2 gallon of coolant has gone over the past year/ year and a half. I can easily do a radiator...
Perfect. My worst case scenario was to have coolant and trans fluid mix within an integrated cooler. If the rad core is coolant only, that’s an easy fix.
Old thread, and stupid question……. But since there’s no radiator core cap, how do we refill the system after changing the radiator? Just through the surge tank cap?
Found a couple new drips under the very front of my JL 3.6. Small drips, found weeks apart. Fluid is red and very low viscosity. When compared to fresh coolant (pictured, dripped some out of a bottle next to the Jeeps drip) the color is slightly different, and they mix together well. Not like...
I bought my X2O Gen 1 on a big discount right before Gen 2 came out. I’d imagine that’s what’s happening. I’m not disappointed I didn’t wait. Great winch for the sale price.
The surge image is definitely not JL. The door frame, hood, and steel portion of the fender looks very CJ like. It also has an EV badge on the quarter. Being there’s no sense in an entirely new body style for an EV wrangler, I’m wondering if they’re going to have a retro EV sold as a side by...
While My 2018 battery is still doing fine, I had a 2015 challenger with similar electronics. It’s battery would go out about every 18 mo this. In all cases, the information center would give a heads up on when it was running low. In every case I waited until the battery was fully dead. By...
I lost over an inch on my factory sport suspension with a steel bumper and winch. Probably closer to 1.5”. The sport springs are soft. It didn’t happen immediately though, it took a year for it to fully sag. Full assembly weight is around 180 lbs. Just by lifting up on the bumper with 50 pounds...
It’s been a couple years for you guys…… how is the bumper holding up? Specifically curious about how tight the swing out carrier is staying. I am trying to decide between a tailgate or bumper spare mount, this has always been at the top of my list, but don’t want the attractive price to get me...
I had my automatic lock start to go intermittent about 2 months ago, totally failed a couple weeks ago.
Guys, honestly, this is a super easy fix.
Go to allpar and get PN: 68282968AA. $60.98
Remove the interior tailgate panel. A trim tool helps, but it’s just held on with clips. Pull it...
His and hers. I like the JT more for ride and utility, but the JL’s turning radius and break over angle work so much better than the much longer JT for the woods trails we ride. So the JL is getting the parts cannon to be a trail toy, while the JT just got tires and will be doing light duty...
I have a quadratec QRC full width with a Smitty X2O. It’s a pig of an assembly. It weighed enough to where it sagged my front suspension by nearly 1.5” over the course of a couple years (factory suspension). So much sag in fact, that I was left with about an inch of travel to the stops, and...
The dodge lug nut design is notoriously bad. The outer cap is pressed on to the nut underneath. After the cap becomes loose, water gets in between and rusts the nut under the cap causing it to swell. It’s such a known issue, they even make a special half size socket to get on to swollen nuts.
Mine did. I went from the stock donuts to 285’s. It takes more pedal travel to achieve the same braking force with more noticeable fade (non HD brakes). I got brake effectiveness back by going with Hawk pads and rotors.
It was by no means to the point of loosing trust in the brakes, but there...
Yep. And 90% of people don’t even bother to disconnect. There’s nowhere near the articulation to worry about joint bind or Rzeppa clearance issues on a Mopar lift if left connected. I had some worries about it after seeing how close to the Rzeppa flange was to the driveshaft, but after running...
