First off I am referring to the Tow loops without the frame tie in (even then lateral pulls you run the risk of bending the tow loop)... Second both frame horns on my wrangler are cracked from the pre-frame tie in towing, so personal experience also supports that . I also had the bent tow loops...

Note: the maximus 3 loops are not a good recovery point without the frame tie in. Without the frame tie in they only bolt to the very thin frame horn and easily break with any lateral forces.

Just a heads up be careful not to wear Jeans with those light colored seats as the dye in jeans if you perspire can bleed onto the seats and will be difficult to get it out.

You are corerct but they should be. I have an issue with this in that Maximus will still sell the tow loops and not require the tie in bracket which will damage more Wranglers.
