I have owned 61 vehicles (not counting the motorcycles) in the last twenty years. There are only a few I wish I would have kept. My 2007 Lotus Elise Type 72d, my 2007 Honda S2000 and my 2005 MazdaSpeed Miata. All the others I could take or leave, including my last car, a 2019 C7 Grandsport.
So the results of your 30ish horsepower gain was using E72 octane fuel, if I’m understanding you correctly? What were your results with 91/93 premium gas?
What year WS6 do you own? I have always liked those cars.
I had a 2006 GTO I did a lot of work to. You can’t beat the sound of a cammed small block Chevy with full exhaust. I was going to do the same with my 2019 Grand Sport C7, but I ended up not liking the car and got rid of it after nine months.
I have owned several Honda’s. 99 Si, 05 Accord V6, 2006 S2000. Without bolt-ons, tunes offered marginal gains on these platforms. A tune on a new Type R is seeing 40plus horsepower gains, but we all know why. Even Hondata and KTuner websites show small gains with a tune only.
Talk about going back and forth. “They cherry pick their tunes,” and “they don’t guarantee these results for everyone.”
I have been very clear about my thoughts, but let me restate them for you.
1.) These results on a NA OEM motor from a tune alone is not feasible.
2.)The oem tune on a manual...
I have only seen dyno results posted from Livernois. None from owners. I have seen testimonials from owners, but in all, there is very little information and results posted outside of what the tuner has provided. You guys can keep drinking the cool aid, but I need further proof. I have seen time...
I imagine Livernois provides excellent customer service and would answer any questions I would offer. In all aspects, I guess you can say the revised 3.6l motor for the JL is on the line of being a high compression motor. But honestly, a 50+ hp gain from a NA tune says either FCA engineers are...
I have seen this game played time and time again with tuners on multiple platforms. They take their highest pull, on a given day under certain circumstances. Again, they rely on people with little knowledge to sell their product. I have not experienced their tune and it’s quality, so I won’t...
I won’t argue with you. Do what and believe what you want. Tuners rely on people like you. If you believe a 3.6 liter port injection low compression motor is going to gain 25hp on a tune alone, I don’t have much to say. If anything, I would care less about the horsepower gain and more about the...
