This. I try to buy American whenever I can. It's not that easy though sometimes especially given that as Americans, most of us just want to pay the least and get the most. Until that attitude changes, things will frequently be "Made in China" .... or wherever the next cheapest place becomes.
Most non-oem bumpers look like they belong on the JK, not the JL. So I'd advise searching for a take off instead. Obviously looks are subjective, but very square lines on the aftermarket JL bumpers (probably easier to stamp out?). It's unfortunate that AEV's are not available yet.
It really depends on how they package it I guess. The 8 speed really helps around town. Highway will be tough. Cylinder deactivation might actually hurt in some cases. Flat roads 65-70 is probably the only real use case.
I think overall I’d prefer the diesel over the v8– maybe if they do a two...
Not sure... I'm keeping eyes out... I'd assume Oct 1. lol. Dealer told me I should expect to be able to order Hydro Blue in December, so I am planning on ordering a 4 door Rubi in hydro blue with diesel and maybe sky top, depending on how much I actually take my hard top off this fall.
Literally wouldn't buy a Wrangler without the LED option for the headlights. The base ones are JUNK. My $0.02, FCA should have included these by default and there should be no lighting option. I drove one without it and it literally feels like a safety issue. My $0.02.
I have never driven a V8 Wrangler that consistently got above 10 mpg around town (hard not to have fun right?). I don't think these results are surprising whatsoever.
My TJ was the best... 5.7 Hemi, if I babied it and stayed 60-65 highway on 33's I'd get 15-16 (4.10 gears 5 speed auto with a...
I think diesel would have been ideal just from a standpoint of having large tires and not noticing much of a mpg hit or power loss through mountains. No regrets though. It would have meant waiting two years.
Yep, I drug XD -- but mainly in Golden Spike which calls for 35's (I don't think I drug once any other trail?). I don't care though that's what it's built for... just rock rails and skid plates anyway. No damage. Could turn the vehicle in after the lease with no issue. The only sketchy parts...
Did most of the trails thru 7 rating in Moab bone stock off showroom floor.
Only upgraded because I plan on doing some of the harder 7's+ next year and probably the Rubicon trail (no experience there, don't want a ton of damage). But I'm switching to running 35's for daily use.
