  1. 2021 Jeep Wrangler Now Include 3 Years of Jeep Wave Care Program (Free Maintenance)

36 month maintenance included kind of parallels BMW et. al., especially applicable to leased vehicles. Maybe European influence on FCA? Before some of you snicker, what is Ford or GM offering? (However, you MAY, no you are ENCOURAGED to snicker at 2020 GM/Nikola maintance packages...) ;)
  2. QTDDTOT: Questions that don't deserve their own thread

I don't like to make waves, but: The drummer, er, cow-bell boy is suffering from parody, sarcasm, or trolling. Not sure which. Need more data... Help!
  3. Jumper cables: Need to buy some new ones. Recommendations?

Adding to Chocolate Thunder's comment: In the "length long enough" category, if you park nose-in in a garage--especially a one-car garage, you want at least the length of the vehicle to be jump-started plus say 4 feet to reach the battery in the starting vehicle you have parked nose-to-tail...
  4. Removed the engine cover.

Some forums have members who ruthlessly state "Pictures, or it didn't happen..." But I'm nicer than them. (The pictures of the crated engine on page two show only clothed and "half-nekkid"--the cover is only half off. I'm looking forward to seeing a nekkid motor "in the bay.")
  5. Smell from the AC

If you have a 2020 this would certainly be a warranty issue, IMHO. Perhaps the drain got clogged, leading to moisture retention, a wet filter, etc. In a vehicle long ago with a similar problem my dealer unclogged the drain and sprayed some sort of cleaner into the vents that cleaned the fins and...
  6. Need help. Trying to keep radio on at drive-in.

I would think it would be preferable to do this trick in ACC rather than RUN. I suspect that all the computers, brake circuits, etc. would be energized in RUN mode, meaning more battery drain. In ACC mode, (hopefully) only the accessories in use would be draining the battery.
  7. Bottle opener?

Thanks, Encino Stan. Guess I just read right past that. I'm so used to calling my JLUR a hardtop, I really didn't think of the Sunrider as being a soft top--but that's exactly what it is, and a great accessory at that! (Hmmm. 2/3 Hardtop, 1/3 Softop. Does that mean I'm driving a hybrid and can...
  8. Bottle opener?

Thanks, Rich/Tru-Trac, that picture helps a lot. From Artec's website I had zero idea that it mounted where you have it. Now I have to look at that spot on my Rubi when it's light outside... I have installed the Bestop Sunrider, so I don't know if that will be an issue... Thanks, again, the...
  9. FCA to become Stellantis

The consultants that thought up that name are quietly laughing all the way to the bank...
  10. Bottle opener?

Victorinox Swiss Army Knife RescueTool When I bought my JLUR, I bought one of these to match the one in my MDX. Designed to cut seatbelts, break glass, even cut through windshields! Interesting video on Victorinox' website showing the techniques for each rescue blade. Link below. The SAK...
  11. Bottle opener?

Went to the Artec website, still can't figure out where this thing mounts--especially since they say "The JL Bottle Opener mounts directly under the roll bar next to the front seats and conveniently tucks up and out of the way. "Tucks" out of the way when not needed, even when bolted tight...
  12. anybody know what this alarm means at about 18 seconds...

Does the dealer plan to remove this hidden GPS-tracking unit? Some dealers as reported in this forum install GPS-tracking devices so that if a purchaser defaults on his/her auto loan, the dealer knows where to come to repo the vehicle. Some owners have found the devices and removed them, as...
  13. Wrangler Production Running About 70% After One Week of Plant Reopening

From what I've seen about various entities re-opening after the Covid shutdowns, 70% after just one week is pretty damn good. Reestablishing supply chains with Just-in-Time inventory from probably hundreds or thousands of suppliers, replacing and retraining for lost workers, getting the lines...
  14. Lamin-X install. Looks good. (Pics)

Probably would have helped if the OP explained in one introductory sentence what Lamin-X is and what it is intended to do. Color change film? Protection against rocks? Legal? Etc.
  15. Thoughts on this flag pole holder

If the flag is used on a moving vehicle, there is probably a large difference in pole diameter needed if the flag sits above the roofline vs. the flag being below roofline. Wind resistance/drag of a flag in the airstream vs. below... If only on a stationary vehicle, then it's just the ambient...
  16. Easy Way to Slide a Refrigerator -- *Really* Poor Man's Slider?

Patrick- Are the feet rubber? A temporary hack might be to simply tape over the rubber feet with duct tape or heavy package sealing tape. No more grippy rubber feet! And it's reversible for when your budget recovers enough for a slide-out tray (if you think you still need one with that...
  17. How about a JLU XL?!

How about an Extended-Length JLU Wrangler, as long as a Gladiator, with one continuous passenger/cargo compartment? Let me explain how I arrived at this possibly-interesting vehicle concept: In another, unrelated forum where I lurk, a gentleman in Georgia has put a very nice-looking tan camper...
  18. Need help Sahara or Rubicon

Sahara vs. Rubicon seems to be an age-old question among prospective Wrangler buyers. I drove both before buying. The Rubi seemed a bit tighter. (N.B.: One man's tight suspension is another's rough-riding!) The Sahara had more bling--something I didn't want. You'll never be limited by the...
