That looks great, and the look of that exactly is why I wish I hadn’t cheaped out on the metal bumper option. If I end up keeping my lease (signs point to yes) I’ll probably try to source a metal from OEM bumper. None of the aftermarket ones look as good to me.
My first JL was bright red and I loved that.
My current Jeep is Sting Grey because it is a 4xe, and IMO a lot of the colors don’t look good with all of the blue accents on the 4xe. I think Sting Grey is an interesting color with the flat non metallic, but yeah in general I’m anti-grey on cars.
Moderately equipped Rubicon 4xe here. No leather, no painted panels, no safety nanny’s. And I didn’t want any of those things. I got everything I wanted, except metal bumpers which I should have gotten. Otherwise, very very happy with my spec. (Kept my soft top from my previous JL, so have that too)
I don’t care about the heat/cold. It’s just not worth dealing with the downsides of the soft top (decreased visability, PITA factor of trunk access, etc) if I’m not going to be putting the top down. Which when it’s cold out, I’m not.
The ST is plenty warm, it’s the lack of rear visibility (no defrost/no rear wiper) and the lack of wanting to flip up the rear plastic window in cold weather that’s tough. Also not sure about heavy snow load on the soft top.
I usually jump the gun on switching HT/ST back and forth because I get antsy to go mess around with the Jeep, and I like playing with it. So I’ll probably do HT this weekend and then switch the ST back on in late March/early April LOL.
“Rust belters”? “6 months of sh*tty weather-ers”? I dunno, I just meant to steer away from all the dweebs down south who will be all “hurr durr what’s winter lol”.
Maybe I’ll call us “people who will still have fresh water in 20 years” people?
