  1. Not liking the loss in mileage.

You need to recalibrate your speedometer using a tazer type programmer first. Changing tire size without changing the setting will throw your mileage way off. That being said, you are still going to be down from the stock size. Also, don’t forget to calculate any warm up time on the gas...
  2. Wiper cover easter egg

Yep, as ZandCwhite said, it’s a spot for Rick Pewe to set his beer. He is the former editor of JP Magazine as well as 4Wheel and Off road, among other things. He is an advisor to Jeep and had a lot of input on the JL. One of his biggest complaints about the Jk was there was no longer a flat...
  3. When is the JL Facelift coming?

It amazes me just how much the fan base has changed over the years. It went from blue jeans and burgers to Patagonia and prosciutto. And to think….we called the YJ a “Yuppie Jeep”!
  4. Anyone change order? Jeep tracker not reflecting update??

Yep, never heard of one successfully being changed. My dealer says it’s possible in theory, as long as a vin hasn’t been assigned, but that usually occurs within 24 hours or so, so I’d just reorder if I was you. Or just have it be a surprise!
  5. Decision on color..,??

Non-metallic grays look like primer to me. So it instantly makes your car/Jeep look like a POS beater that some 16 year old kid rattle canned primer gray. I’ve owned three Wranglers in white, one in black, one in Yellow, one in Gobi, and have one ordered in Punk’n. Black was my least favorite...
  6. 2023 Rubicon cloth seats?

….and the factory makes mistakes all of the time. In years past I’ve seen Jeeps with three body colored flares and one black that some how made it out of QC. I’ve seen Jeeps with wrong colored stitching on the steering wheels, door panels that are wrong, etc etc etc. Check your Jeep CLOSELY...
  7. Since 1941

First vehicle I ever steered on my dads lap was a 1976 CJ5. (1981) First vehicle I ever drove by myself around a hayfield at 8 years old was a 1973 Wagoneer. (1985) Bought my first Jeep in 1999 (TJ) Got married in that TJ in 2005 Since then I’ve had two more TJ’s, 2 JK’s, a JL and have...
  8. JLU Helped Me Pull Off The Perfect Wedding

Congrats, my wife and I did the same thing, honeymooned in Ouray/Silverton Colorado nearly 20 years ago. We are still together and Jeeps are still a huge part of our lives.
  9. 2023 Orders - Check in here

I’m on my 9th custom order in the last 11 years, trust me when I say it wasn’t any easier when lead times were 4-5 weeks! You learn to live by milestones not daily updates. D1 Build sheet appears Window sticker appears When it is built and waiting transport When it is finally in transit...
  10. Opus' Purple People Eater Build Thread

Love the color! My daughters middle name is Reign and I almost ordered one for that reason alone.
  11. Handing over the keys

My situation is the opposite. I was forced to work on junk my entire youth. We were middle class but barely, so I had a car at 16, but it was a beat up Nova. I spent many many years working on junk, being stranded by junk, smelling like gasoline because of the junk I was driving, etc., now at...
  12. The Lowly Sport - List of Advantages (other than cost of course)

Yep, I originally intended to buy a Roxor or a SXS as I just didn’t want to deal with Jeeps paint issues. Then I priced them both and the Jeep was within 10k of the Roxor price wise and didn’t have a top or doors. The base Wrangler was even with most of the nicer SXS’s price wise with most of...
  13. The Lowly Sport - List of Advantages (other than cost of course)

I don’t care if the paint peels off a 30k Jeep, I do care when it peels off a 60k Jeep. Sold my 2dr Rubicon at the peak of the pandemic because I was terrified the paint was going to peel off….just ordered a base Sport manual with no options because I just can’t stomach losing 20k when the...
  14. 2023 Orders - Check in here

Yeah, from what I understand a few of those parts are not available, especially the safety stuff. You may consider (I’m sure you already have) asking your dealer to talk to his Rep and ask him to clarify with FCA if they have any timeline on fulfilling those orders with the options you have...
  15. 2023 Orders - Check in here

What’s your build? White in color, but what else?
  16. 2023 Orders - Check in here

Just ordered a 23 Sport 2 Dr Punk’n on 11/04. Currently in C status, have a VON and a VIN. This will be Wrangler #7. 3 TJ’s, 2 JK’s and 2 JL’s. 4 out of 7 have been special ordered. Last one was October 20 and it took 8 weeks, all previous were in 5 weeks (pre-pandemic) This one I’m hoping...
  17. It's that time of year, go get ur Punk'n 🎃

They usually won’t show in the build and price site until there are units in transit. Meaning Jeep really intends for us to use the build and price feature as a way to locate dealer stock. Price on the color is 695 and you cannot get it with half doors…..that’s about all I know…
  18. 2023 Waiting/Venting Room

That’s the arrangement if it arrives mid December or later. However, in the past, 5 weeks was the norm (pre-pandemic) and I’ve seen them arrive in as little as 10 days if the factory happened to be producing a dealer stock unit with the exact same options as your custom order. They just give...
  19. 2023 Waiting/Venting Room

Anyone know when/if they’ve began spraying Punk’n? I’m hoping my Jeep doesn’t arrive until after the new year since we have to pay personal property tax here in Missouri on anything we own Jan 1. I wouldn’t have ordered until Jan, but was afraid Punk’n would disappear, so I gambled. Here’s to...
  20. New jeep next to old jeep

Take it from someone who has owned 7 Wranglers and as many CJ’s, the old Jeeps don’t hold a candle to these new ones. Sure they’re different and look cool, but my god do they suck at everything except being small. Don’t think for a second that they are more durable or more reliable either. My...
