  1. loose steering and track bar fix - another example!!

when I can, I do go to Vegas to do service/warranty work. some non-standard things I can do myself, but those ball joints are tough to get to without lifting each corner and removing the tires, and I thought a quick (!! ended up being 2 hours!!) swing by the dealership to address that would have...
  2. loose steering and track bar fix - another example!!

recently brought in to the dealer for warranty "fix" with the TSB to re-torque ball joint to get rid of the "clicking" noise when turning at low speeds. they told me they went through and. just tightened up "everything under there", and the clicking noise was fixed. after that, the steering...
  3. ⚡️ 2024 Jeep Recon EV Revealed! (Off-Road Capable BEV) *** ⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS ***

for those interested in the science of battery recycling and where the technology is now... there is still work to do, but people know that it needs to be addressed as we move towards more battery storage and away from fossils. it's curious that no one seems as concerned about the recycling of...
  4. ⚡️ 2024 Jeep Recon EV Revealed! (Off-Road Capable BEV) *** ⚠️ WARNING: NO POLITICS ***

it looks suspiciously like a bronco - that was my first thought!!
  5. Jeep 4XE day Sept 8th

more spoiler..... so there was the all-electric mini-jeep (avenger?) and wrangler's "brother" (recon). but no magneto/wrangler yet... maybe they are waiting on it's own announcement separately?
  6. Jeep 4XE day Sept 8th

bring magneto to the lineup! there are hints at also a production model of the all-electric wrangler announcement this week? https://www.gearpatrol.com/cars/a41054074/jeep-wrangler-ev/
  7. production "magneto" announcement sept 8??

2024 launch would be great! that means available late next year? from the info I have seen, sounds like it might be a broad "electrification" announcement, including the JT 4xe, all electric mini jeeps (compass, mini-cherokee), and possibly the all-electric JLU with hopefully more than 150 mile...
  8. production "magneto" announcement sept 8??

hopefully the production model of the all-electric wrangler announcement this week? https://www.gearpatrol.com/cars/a41054074/jeep-wrangler-ev/
  9. Stalling on The Wall, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Colorado

with the 2021 rubicon, can't you engage the clutch quickly and then let it crawl? I've been able to do some minor obstacles and even when the jeep is stopped and up against a step, it never stalled but rather just kept adding more power to keep it going. the new rubicons are pretty good about...
  10. Strange smell on hard/ high acceleration

Yes - some related threads below, and the issue I was also asking about - "curious if anyone with this problem has also noticed severe exhaust smell when putting the engine under heavier loads (e.g. climbing long steady hill on highway) in 3rd and 4th gears? wondering if these are related. it's...
  11. Installed 1.5" TeraFlex leveling kit 2021 Rubicon

have the rubicon 3.6L with 6MT, 1.5" teraflex kit, KO2s 35" load range E, with the longer mopar LCAs, stock steering. tires set at 36-40psi depending on outside temp and driving time, and getting 19-20mpg mostly in town driving. decreasing the tire pressure might help slightly with the...
  12. Smttybuilt Ext Shade Top with Skylights

Thanks - got it to work today, had to push most of the stuff behind where those rubber bumpers are, and effective behind the lower shelf part of the hard top (or as much over the roll bar as possible). Freedom panels went on much easier this time. Thanks!
  13. Clicking when turning steering wheel at low speeds

Anyone know where to find this TSB or have the number for it? I have been struggling to find this specific one. Thanks!!
  14. Smttybuilt Ext Shade Top with Skylights

thanks! I noticed the rubber bumpers on the hard top not sitting all the way on the roll bar, but eventually just loosened the middle straps and pushed things as far back as I could to get everything in place. I'll work on it some more to see if I can streamline the hard top install a bit more...
  15. Smttybuilt Ext Shade Top with Skylights

I realize this thread is from a while ago... but just installed the smittybilt extended shade. When I installed the hardtop over it, I had a lot of trouble getting the rear latches of the freedom panels to close - seemed like the smittybilt material had built up too thick between the rear part...
  16. Installed 1.5" TeraFlex leveling kit 2021 Rubicon

The longer mopar LCAs make a big difference! Larger tires will also help. I eventually replaced the stock red rubi shocks with falcons and it helped with off-road washboards/rough roads and on-road curves/roundabouts. But the longer LCAs and larger tires (35s) had a greater improvement for the...
  17. 2 Door cargo security soft top

I have been meaning to test this to confirm, but I believe once you lock the jeep with your fob, the only way to unlock it is with the fob again; meaning that if you hit the "unlock" button inside your front doors, it will only unlock the doors and not the tailgate - to unlock the tailgate you...
  18. 3.6L "Hiccup"

thanks both!! it is definitely worse with back windows out, less so with top down, and barely noticeable when fully closed; and always above 35-40mph (usually in the highway speeds). I have brought it to the dealer claiming the clutch smell, because I really didn't think the exhaust would be...
  19. 3.6L "Hiccup"

just found this thread, and have the same hiccup thing - reproducible at the same spot in my daily drive in 3rd or 4th gear at 45-50mph (I have the 3.6 non-e-torque with MT) curious if anyone with this problem has also noticed severe exhaust smell when putting the engine under heavier loads...
