Youāre 100% right for the hardtop folks. However, for us soft toppers, we lose the āopenā effect due to the fugly soft top rails/ C pillar. But . . . now that Iāve started taking my soft top completely off, I have a renewed interest in some half doors instead of my current (and much cheaper)...

Cool, thanks! Iāve often wondered if quick release pins would work, and expedite the process. They come in all shapes, sizes, sheer strength, etc. Not a year round solution or for blasting down the interstate at 85 mph, but maybe a Summer around town solution.
Nope, installed straight out of the box. By no means cheap, but effective. FWIW, my two buddies with JLās are both riding around with OEM glass which has cracked in the last 3 weeks.
I stand behind this . . . . all day, every day! Taken a few shots on the interstate which Iām sure would have wreaked havoc on anything else. Iām sure I just jinxed myself, but no problems to this point, after replacing the cute little Easter Egg logoād OEM windshield.
