  1. Newbie Steering Drift Question

Your jeep already has the steel steering gear box, upgraded Mopar track bar, and supposedly updated steering stabilizer. If airing down does not solve your wandering issue, the next step might be trying out the Mopar LCAs. BTW, I drive a Z06, and the jeep is never going to steer anywhere close...
  2. JL manual trans clutch?

35000 and change, still working flawlessly. Might eventually get a centerforce in a few years.
  3. My 392 is hot. Literally.

I would love to drive you Callaway Z06 and see what I am missing in my Z06.:LOL::LOL: Cabin heat does not seem to be much of a problem in my Z06, even on the warmest Florida days. Just crank up the A/C or drop the top and drive. Mine is a 2019 so GM may have reacted to complaints in...
  4. Negativity

What was it that Spiro Agnew used to say? "Nattering Nabobs of Negativity" That was in the 1970's, so it's nothing new. BTW, OP, your Jeep looks good.
  5. It's a Jeep, not a "car".

Keep in mind that genuine questions asked in 2018, 2019, 2020 could have different answers or additional information as new products and technologies have come to market. Also more information has become available from the manufacturer and third parties. So while I will search, I may also ask...
  6. Are us middle class Jeepers going to be (fuel) forcefully priced out of enjoying our Jeeps? [CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS]

I get a chuckle seeing all those "better than thou" people driving their Teslas and crying while they go running to their safe spaces because Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter. "cocoon of snobs", I like that one. Reminds me of a speech once given referencing "an effete corps of impudent snobs"...
  7. Mopar LCA swap

I needed a 13/16 swivel head socket to get at my front passenger side bolt. Could not access the nut on that one because of the FAD. YMMV. My impact wrench supposedly delivers 1200 ft/lbs of breakaway torque. I didn't need it on the passenger side rear bolt, but I used it on the other 3. I...
  8. Push button 4WD for the Wrangler

The only problem is, if the service 4 wd light comes on, you aren't in 4WD even if the transfer case says you are. All these electronic features using cheapo import sensors that break easily mess up the experience. I'm with you, keep the tried and true for years mechanical functions.
  9. Is it just me or are current Wrangler buyers different…[CLOSED DUE TO INSULTING BEHAVIOR]

A lot of JL mods are suspension related and may not be evident until you are up close and personal. Many times interior mods are not obvious unless you are, again, up close and personal. Jeeps are the "in" vehicle among the yuppie set right now, and many of those will never be modded or taken...
  10. Mopar LCA Length vs Rubicon Stock

You ordered the correct part number. The stock LCA is 24 inches center to center. The 68322798AA is 24 1/4 inches center to center. I just did the swap this past weekend and when you lay the stock one next to the Mopar one, you can see the difference. What part number is on the ones you got...
  11. 392 XR Whoops! Overturned @ Cleghorn Trail [Recover Video Added]

Love the attitude and willingness to help others with lessons learned. It sucks what happened, glad you are OK. I've been following your posts for a while and they are always informative. So I hope the days and weeks following give you whatever it is you desire in a replacement for your 392...
  12. Mopar LCA swap

Got them on without much fuss. I did have to go out and buy a swiveling impact socket to break the passenger side forward bolt loose, factory must have torqued that one to 300 ft/lbs :CWL:. The other 3 were easy to get off. With a couple of clicks on the ratchet strap and the passenger side...
  13. Things I'd Love To See Jeep Steal From Rivian #2342 - KEYS

Rivian stock has gone from 180 to less than 30 and keeps tanking. It has cost both Ford and Amazon billions. I doubt Rivian is long for this world, unless management starts producing what they said they would during their IPO late last year.
  14. Mopar LCA swap

The bolts are marinating in PB Blaster now. Big boy pants are ready, and steel jock strap, too :CWL: A variety of tools are laid out ready to go to work. It's gonna be interesting. Hope the weather cools down a bit. Thanks for all the answers.
  15. Mopar LCA swap

My Mopar LCAs arrived yesterday. I'll be working on a stock 2018 JLUR. One thing I noticed, they are made in China, so I'll need to get after scrapes right away because Chinese steel is known for rusting. I have all the tools that I think I need to do the job, plus a new set of nuts and...
  16. Edit- The joy of online car shopping

You're in SE PA, and there is a forum recommended dealer in Horsham, PA. Chapman I believe. You might start there before going out of state.
  17. Riding a trail in Northeast TN and came across this...

Did you check to see if anyone was still in there?:giggle::giggle:
  18. General thoughts on ICE depreciation?

Again, Government to the rescue. Government will slap taxes on Fossil fuels to the point where it becomes prohibitively expensive to drive ICE vehicles. They are already shutting down refineries around TX and LA with more stringent regulations. Unless something changes, Government is going to...
  19. $20K markup!!!?

Between Fred Beans and Thompson, every brand dealership in Dtown, PA is owned by one or the other, at least it was that way when I left the area. I remember those stories about the rust. Yes there are decent dealers around, you just have to do your research. I actually met Fred Beans right...
  20. General thoughts on ICE depreciation?

When an EV can give me the room and cargo capacity of my F150, the 650-700 mile range of my 36 gallon gasoline tank on my F150 with cargo and passengers, and the ability to refuel and be back on the road in 15 minutes, I'll stick with my ICE vehicles. I have to laugh at California mandating EV...
