  1. OEM Battery Replacement

Driving only short trips will eventually lead to an early battery death. Take your Jeep out on the highway a couple times a month for 30 miles or more so you can get a good charge on it. Or use a trickle charger like many motorcycles have.
  2. Extend Width of Stock Fender on JL Sport

The easier and less invasive thing to do would be to put the stock wheels and tires on for inspection.
  3. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

I’s love to spend a week in Winnipeg. It would be a great change from South Texas. I spent a week in Iceland a couple of years ago. I really enjoyed it there. As for colors, my last Jeep was Commando Green. I really liked it, but it seems dated now. They only ran that color for a few months in...
  4. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

Spinrite, what is my Jeep doing in your garage? Hell, they look identical. Right down to the headlights. And I’m with you. I pretty much like it as is, except I want metal bumpers.
  5. Do you wave at Gladiators?

I wonder why they gave it a separate name? It's still a Wrangler, just a pickup version. They should have designated it as a JLT instaead of a JT. Even the original Scambler was still a CJ, CJ8 that is.
  6. Willys Owners Question

I can confirm the the Willys has Sport springs and Rubicon shocks front and rear. The tires are set high on the lot to keep them from flat spotting. I have mine at 37 now, but will prob go to 34. I like the Firestone letters in white. Looks good on my white Jeep with black accents. Black side...
  7. Local Wrangler Inventory: 0

Almost all 2 doors are sold out here in San Antonio and Austin. Some higher priced 4 doors left and a fair amount of JTs. When I bought my 2 door, the dealer had 18 left. 3 weeks later they were all gone.
  8. 3 Random Observations on the JLU....

The AJT fob is just as big. These huge fobs really suck. I guess they’re easier to find in a purse.
  9. Road Trips in a 2 door Willy’s or Rubicon: how was the experience with the tires?

When I take mine to work, it's 26 miles one way, mostly highway. Straight and slight curves are easy with the 2 door. sharper curves require more attention. The Firestone MTs are a little noisy, but ride well enough. I'm sure KO2s would be much quieter and take some of the edge off in the...
  10. Jeep Ducking (Duck Duck Jeep)

Never heard of this until now. I saw on old XJ the other day with a rubber duck stuck on the front of the hood like a hood ornament. I don’t get it. I guess there are people out there who think it's great fun. Don’t care if I find one on mine one day. The dogs will get a new toy to destroy. I’d...
  11. 2-door vs. 4-door -- All the Things Discussion

If I needed 4 doors, I’d go ahead and get the Gladiator. If I didn’t already have a truck I would have given it a hard look.
  12. 2-door vs. 4-door -- All the Things Discussion

@Varilux, StationWrangler. That’s a good one! I will be using that phrase now. Most 4 doors around here are driven by soccer moms. Hotter and cooler than ordinary soccers moms though.
  13. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

I hated them before Bridgestone took over. Now Goodyears are the tires I avoid.
  14. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

Since Bridgestone bought Firestone, they have been great tires. I think Bridgestone should manage Firestone the way Michelin manages BF Goodrich, as more of a specialty and performance brand.
  15. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

They are surprisingly good. Noisy on the highway though. I thought I’d get some BFGs right away, but I’ll stick with them for awhile. All new Willys that I’ve seen are equipped with them.
  16. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

Can’t go wrong with black either. I have a black F150 too. I used to avoid both black and white as I found then to be plain. But I’ve come to realize that black or white do not looked dated. I0 years from now it won’t be dated by it’s color that was only popular for a year or too. Silver is...
  17. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

For those who don’t know. Willys, pronounced Willis, was the first company to produce the Jeep for sale to the public. The name of the company at the time was Willys Overland. FCA still uses the Willys name on Wranglers and the Overland name on Grand Cherokees. That way the trademark is...
  18. New Jeep Wrangler Willy owner color delemma.

I’m biased. I wanted Sarge or Sting Grey. Then I saw this Willys in white and I really like the black contrast against the white.
  19. Painting A Hardtop

Finding a white hard top would be tough. A good body shop should be able to handle it. Key word good. You don’t want it to look like crap when done. I would expect it to cost about $1500-2000.
