  1. Yea yea off roader BUT who enjoys driving their JL onroad?

Love driving my JL-S everywhere so much, mostly open top, that we took it from Colorado to Northern UT through to Southern Ut one trip and even another to the Black Hills SD this past summer. Coming from a vette it isn't the same fun drive on twisty roads or highway on ramps but it scoots when I...
  2. What are your other rides?

My fair weather fun beach cruiser and mini hauler since 1993. Hardtop always in the bed for when the weather turns sour. Totally worthless in any amount of snow. My 2d JL is just as fun so I trade off between the 2 in non-winter months to keep my open air driving life interesting.
  3. Who has taken their JL on a long road trip and what was your experience like?!

Just finished 1700 miles from Colorado through Wyoming into Northern and Southern Utah in our 2 door 2019 Sport. Strong cross-head wind through WY all day for that 8 hour leg and it was nowhere near as bad as when I drove a full sized van or even minivan in high wind. Overall we thought it was...
  4. Gas mileage

I have the 3.6 w/Auto 2dr JL. Stock suspension/BFG C rated 265/70/17 K02s. Live in Colorado at 6200 feet elevation and run 87 octane. Average MPG the past year in town/highway combined is 20-21. Just finished 1700 mile road trip through northern/southern Utah. Total trip average was 25mpg. Saw...
  5. Reality Check for this Jeeper

I had a similar bad experience at a Chevy dealership years ago. They didn't get my business nor any since. As a first time Jeep owner when I bought my JL 2dr Jan 2020 I also really appreciate this forum. Learned much before joining the Wrangler club and after. I must have lucked out with my...
  6. Condition when picked up (brand new) at the dealer?

My 2019 JL Sport, built April/2019, I bought Jan/2020. I had looked at it in Nov/2019 but they were unwilling to deal. In Dec they emailed but the deal wasn't good enough. By January they contacted me and they were ready. It was clean and had 102 miles. It had been there a while and I assumed...
  7. Constantly asked why didn't I get a 4 door!!!! Anyone else?

I have only been asked once in the 1.5 years since getting my 2 door. I went from a Corvette to the Wrangler so my answer was easy. So I don't have to, nor asked to, haul people around. Happiness is driving without a car full of passengers. To be honest, no hard core Jeeper thinking went into...
  8. The Sunrider for Hardtop for the All New Jeep® Wrangler JL is here!

I thought I was the only one who had exhausted all cuss words over the ZClips and blamed my arthritic hands for what should have took less than an hour going way past that. This was my first mod that arrived 4 days after the JL came home with me over a year ago. Love how it works, looks, and has...
  9. Yes this happened in NY today

Coming from the corvette world I have seen the same kind of funky mods that would drive the traditionalist nuts just like this does many jeep traditionalists. My thinking is this is someone who has a passion for it although some would call misdirected and is a jeep that's weirdly loved/taken...
  10. A year into Jeep ownership and I’ve realized...

I'm also just over a year of first time Wrangler ownership and couldn't agree with you more. I'm just north of you in Castle Rock. We're blessed to live in some great Jeeping country.
  11. Little Gap between the Seats that Leads to Another Universe

I wondered too given how far the seat comes forward every time I want access to the backseat of my 2 door. My pipe insulation is pushed down far enough that I don't think it even touches the sliding seat. The gap between the console and floor that needs covered is slightly below the seat rail or...
  12. Gas mileage

Summer day trip running state highways 55 mph over about 140 miles using cruise averaged 29 mpg on my 2dr sport 3.6 auto with stock all season tires. So they can do pretty good. Switched to slightly bigger K02 tires now so will be interesting to see what it can do. I average 20-22 with my normal...
  13. Anyone thought about sliding side windows for the hardtop?

I wanted to explore getting a slider for my JL 2dr hardtop for better air flow when opening up the front windows/top. I contacted these guys who did it for the JK https://www.retrofitoffroad.com/shop/jk-jeep-wrangler-2007-2015/jeep-jk-2-door-factory-hardtop-slider-window-kit-2011-2017/ but never...
  14. Jeep Wave Double Standard

I'm a first time wrangler owner, JL sport with bigger/better tires, the bestop sunrider for hardtop, and it being Billet Silver with big ass Yellow blackout style hood decal as mods. I wave at least a couple of fingers off the steering wheel for every wrangler/gladiator. As a former Vette owner...
  15. Jeep Wave during a pandemic

Just hit my 1 yr anniversary on my 2019 JL Sport and 4200 miles. I decided to make it a routine to at least every other day take it out if not daily on a mental health cruise during the pandemic to nowhere particular, just going someplace for a 30 minute or longer drive. With that I have taken 2...
  16. 3.6L stock issue (everyone should have this)

I have a 3.6 with auto in my 2 door sport and on my freeway onramp to hit the 75mph I am heavy into it after the cloverleaf and have never noticed any throttle lag. Must be RPM'd up because of the way I hit it hard.
  17. Silver antenna when everything else is black?

Black is cool but my JL is Billet Silver so the stock antenna doesn't bother me one bit. Height is the perfect low ceiling feeler for open Sunrider top.
  18. Topless Drivers

I love convertible driving. But I use a Bestop Sunrider for Hardtop on my JL and it is open 100% of the time when the temp is 60 degrees or higher for cruising around except for highway driving. If I have a lot of highway time or the bride is with me it is buttoned up.
  19. 3.6L ESS Aux Battery Bypass

It looks like it should work based on what I have been reading but listen to Jebiruph because I made mine for emergency use at this time to carry and have ready and have not tested it yet. Eventually once warranties are up I intend to go this route or get something like the genesis system as...
