  1. Has anyone used the Warn power interrupt kit with a Smittybuilt X20 winch?

Thank you everyone for your replies. Now I have a small project for this afternoon or Thanksgiving morning.
  2. Has anyone used the Warn power interrupt kit with a Smittybuilt X20 winch?

Thanks, just to confirm that the nuts holding the existing bolts are retained to the body underneath (where you cannot see) So the bolts can be taken out and screwed back in without worrying about losing the nut. Apologies if I am being a little anal about this
  3. Has anyone used the Warn power interrupt kit with a Smittybuilt X20 winch?

Thanks, do the nearby bolts have the nuts welded on the underside? Do you have a picture?
  4. Has anyone used the Warn power interrupt kit with a Smittybuilt X20 winch?

I bought this plate at Home Depot. So when you guys are installing the plate with #10 self tappers into the Jeep body; what size pilot hole are you using? I'm a little leery about drilling into the Jeep. I'm more of a bolt on mod guy. Any non-drilling suggestions? I'm considering one of the...
  5. Best 2 door rock sliders?

I've been happy with my Ace sliders on my 2007 2dr JK and my 2021 JLUR. Pretty easy to install if you are careful with the body bolts. Nice and beefy; although I'm not a rock crawler and have not really tested them other than the occasional scrapes. At the very least they make a perfect step...
  6. 7 days in the U.P. of Michigan, Drummond Island, Au Train, and Cooper Harbor. Lets go Wheeling. Picture and video Heavy.

Sounds like a great adventure. Cool pictures. Thanks for sharing and glad you are not still on the beach at Lake Superior.

  10. Help me plan a 11 1/2 month Jeep camping trip Michigan to the Mexico boarder to Dead Horse Alaska and back

Earlier I posted suggestions on Hwy 395 in the Eastern Sierra/Owens Valley since that was where my Jeep was last week. But I usually I split time between the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe. So below are 10 suggestions for Northern CA. I've taken a more touristic approach rather than wheeling only...
  11. Help me plan a 11 1/2 month Jeep camping trip Michigan to the Mexico boarder to Dead Horse Alaska and back

I saw you already have Alabama Hills on your list. I was there today. Very cool area with mild wheeling. On 395 we just did North to South -Dirt roads from Bridgeport to Bodie ghost town via two abandoned mines -Mono Lake -June Lake loop -Mammoth Lakes / Devils Postpile -Convict Lake...

  13. Jump Ship or What?

I find it hard to believe you have "lost 5K" on a Rubicon over the last 4 months. The market is crazy right now. Sure it dipped a little after June but is likely to go up again due to the hurricanes' impact on inventory. The chip shortage will be here for a long time. And yes you could have...
  14. Proper Jeep Wave

This is absolutely true. I split time between the SF Bay Area and Tahoe. There are probably more Jeeps in the Bay Area, most of which are driven by high schooler's driving their parents' Jeep. Very few of them wave, especially to an old man. I've also found I get many more waves in my 14yr...
  15. Badland Apex 12,000lbs winch

I've been considering this winch for my JLUR and it appears the consensus is that it is a reliable winch for much less than a Warn (which are hard to find anyway). It also looks like HF plans to put it on sale for $530 for Labor Day. But I'm a little intimidated about the installation. So I...
  16. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Thank you I will check it out. But with all the fires, the sky won't be so blue right now.
