  1. Why a two door is better than a four door

We all want a 2 door. Life and Jeep makes us choose the 4 door.
  2. What makes a good tube door?

PA is frustrating, the vehicle code requires the vehicle to be equipped with manufacturer’s original equipment. So technically if your Jeep was built without doors it’s allowed. But basically it comes down to how an officer wants to handle. I’ve never had an issue running my tube doors with the...
  3. Is a JL wrangler a good daily driver???

I daily drove a jku from my new house to work which was 100 miles total. I did it for about 6 months before covid hit. It was fine. My 4xe is light years ahead. It tracks straight and the 8 speed always has the right gear. The hardtop makes a big difference over the softop I had in the Jku. You...
  4. Moving to Minnesota for school.

If I were you I’d look for another vehicle. The 3.8 has a reputation for burning oil and is a little under powered. If looking at Jks I’d look for ‘13 or newer because in 2012 they switched to the still used 3.6. 2012s had a cylinder head issue, although I didn’t on mine. My biggest reason to...
  5. Slapped 33's on my 4xe Sahara!

Ugh, I never had issues with flats on my 17 rims on my jks. But my old accord on low profile tires had issues eat least once a year. Was it through the tread or the gaps in the tread?
  6. Just buy the 4XE. Please do!

After my first fillup I put it on wrong. It took about a week and a couple hundred miles later for the light to show. Just quirk of the sensor I guess.
  7. Winter is coming, and so is salt. My jeeps owner is confused as to what to protect.

Avoid the exhaust and rubber surfaces if you can. On the can it has a warning about certain rubbers swelling. I have over sprayed and hit my tires on occasion with no issue tho. The areas i focus on are the axels, skid surfaces, inside of the frame, outside of the frame that's reachable and the...
  8. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

For your situation, I think youd be more interested in miles per charge not mpg. I'd have to really think how to isolate that number from the m8 method. I guess you'd have to calculate how much gas you use in each method. Whichever method uses more gas would be best for you. I think though you'd...
  9. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

With my results, I had trouble picturing it in my mind so I put everything into excel. For me, I used my app calculated mpg for the ICE engine (using hybrid to hybrid miles each fill-up) and my total miles mpg from the computer since my mileage was flat the few times I tried this m8. I used...
  10. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

The original post was about tricking hybrid mode to run the ice and electric motor together instead of depleting the battery first. Which does happen by putting it in manual. I don’t think there’s much benefit to the other modes in manual, just a matter of preference for them.
  11. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

Just heads up m8 will log all of your miles under hybrid. But it will be interesting how much range it will say you have at the end. I did it for my 50 mile drive into the office this morning until I got off the highway (after 45 miles or so). I had maybe 12 or 13 miles left at that point, then...
  12. Just buy the 4XE. Please do!

After 1500 miles I finally used this. Came to a 2 lane light that goes to one just after the light. Some guy in a forester behind me sped up and got in the left lane to beat me to the merge when the light went red. So we were both sitting there waiting and I switched to 4auto. Was at 0% so the...
  13. Using true hybrid mode to maximize MPG of Jeep 4xe

Apologies for resurrecting. I just tried this method for a 40 mile, almost all highway trip. I mainly did it so that my engine didn’t start in the middle of the highway in 40 degrees. I was in manual mode the whole time with about 18 miles in range (~75%)when I started. I finished with 6 miles...
  14. Does anyone else wish their 4xe engine mode selection remained the same as when they last shut it down like what Jeep did with the regen button?

I must be missing something cause my Hybrid mode is basically just electric till the battery is drained. I only switch to e-save when I get on the highway, otherwise I leave it in hybrid...The only thing I'd change up is switching the cpu's preference to ICE in Hybrid above 55mph. I'd like it to...
  15. US tax credits and the pending bill [Warning: NO POLITICS]

I think incentives on the high performance vehicles do not make sense regardless of buyer income level. The new hummers, performance teslas, porches etc should be capable of competing on their own in their respective classes. Where the incentives should be are for an inexpensive small sedan or...
  16. How many of you frequently drive in 4 auto?

I think the flip side is there times where I've been in 2wd but probably should have been in 4 hi. Thats the beauty of 4 auto. Not having keeping switching based on road conditions.... I guess if you are keeping the Jeep forever just drive in 4 auto full time until you hit 59,000 miles or 5...
  17. How many of you frequently drive in 4 auto?

Yeah differences in location for sure. Out here winter tires are not common. Temps do not stay below 40 enough to make them worth it. More often than not, a cuv owner would not be paying attention to tread. In those cases I'd go with the Jeep with ATs. But I agree if I was driving in a storm I'd...
  18. How many of you frequently drive in 4 auto?

Yes they are and so are polls. I added in just for fun because I wanted more than 2 options and I didn’t think anyone would put never. It is kind of 4xe specific, idk if a non 4xe owner would see any benefits. I think the always is the interesting choice.
  19. How many of you frequently drive in 4 auto?

Yep don't follow the Subaru, you have no idea the condition of their tires lol.
