  1. Rubicon fuel economy (3.6L manual transmission)?

I get 18.5 - 19 mpg suburban driving / 21-22 easily highway. I have 37s tires, steel bumpers and winch. MPG is not really determined by the JEEP; it's dependent on the operator. Are you optimally shifting? Do you coast up to stop lights? I take mine out of gear and try to determine if I have to...
  2. What mod are you MOST proud of?! Pics welcome!!

Thank you. Love the doors. I feel the Jeep is still wide-open, but have the mesh block the white lane stripes which I found to be annoying and too much a reminder that there was no door between me and the road. Price wasn't my primary issue; time was. I ordered through 4WP because they had them...
  3. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

"Summerized" the Jeep this weekend. Body Armor Gen 3 doors and Lange Coyote mirrors 1st door was a painful learning experience, but the other 3 got built and installed easily. Mirrors were easy to do.

  6. Jeep Ducking (Duck Duck Jeep)

I got ducked today while officiating volleyball Thanks to whoever did this.
  7. Please Post who are the Custom Jeep Builders in this country

I worked closely with 4 Wheel Parts over a few visits to the store before I ordered my Rubicon. Had a number of conversations about what I wanted to do and which model would best be suited to my needs and desires. Everything was decided before I placed the order. I drove it from the dealership...
  8. JL Manual Transmission Values Down the Road

That's why the Jeep is the 3rd vehicle.
  9. JL Manual Transmission Values Down the Road

I understand. With "stand-still" traffic, you wouldn't want your daily driver to be a manual.
  10. JL Manual Transmission Values Down the Road

There is a sticker available that depicts the manual shift configuration and below it states "millennial anti-theft device". Thought of getting it, but figured it could be an invitation for someone to try.
  11. JL Manual Transmission Values Down the Road

The dealer was a fool to order manual JLs to carry in inventory. When only 3% of the population drive manuals, dealers would shy away from carrying them in inventory. However, a dealer should have no issue ordering one for a customer. Selling a manual Jeep should be a far different experience...
  12. Where to mount E-ZPass on driver's side?

I just put it in the recessed holder on top of the dash. Never had a problem with the sensors reading it.
  13. JL Manual Transmission Values Down the Road

I got a manual Jeep (and this applies to classic muscle cars as well) because I wanted the experience of actually driving (controlling) the vehicle. I don't buy vehicles thinking about the resale value. If I did, I would only buy Honda Civics. There's no fun in driving a Honda Civic. When the...
  14. Rubicon fuel economy (3.6L manual transmission)?

When I first got my Rubicon, I was getting 15 -16 mpg while learning the best gearing at different speeds. I have 37" tires / 3 inch lift / steel bumpers and a winch. Mostly city driving with some highway. This past 6 months, I have raised the to over 19 mpg. Remember, this vehicle is not meant...
  15. Members old and new -- check in and wave hello!

If you haven't purchased Weather Tech yet, look at Rugged Ridge. Half the price and fit perfectly.
  16. Are paddle shifters too much to ask?

You knew the shifter was floor mounted when you bought it. It's part of the experience and separates you from 98% of the population who won't/can't drive a floor stick. I wanted the floor mount as I have always enjoyed the foot/hand coordination and the feeling of greater control of the...
  17. Non wrangler owners, why the JL?

I was a muscle car owner for 19 years. Had a 61 Vette, 67 Camaro and 02 Vette. Loved them all. Had all three at once for a number of years. Won trophies with them all. I did a frame-off restoration on the 61 Vette and a partial restoration on the Camaro. Last couple of years I wasn't enjoying...
