  1. TFL compares the 4Runner to JL Willys Sport.

And I’m still new to the Jeep/Off-road world. Our JL is my wife’s DD. These are a few of the vehicles I’ve owned. So “fun” to me, may mean something different. I know, apples and oranges.
  2. TFL compares the 4Runner to JL Willys Sport.

Lol, compared to those, yes. Super fun.
  3. TFL compares the 4Runner to JL Willys Sport.

Look, I totally get it. When I think 4Runner or Tacoma, I think extreme reliability. But damn is it an incredibly boring and unsatisfying driving experience.
  4. TFL compares the 4Runner to JL Willys Sport.

I know the 4Runner is a quality SUV but Ive never really thought of it as a direct competitor. I guess until the Bronco, it was the closest comparison in the price range, though. The engine and transmission in the 4Runner is grossly outdated.
  5. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Threedom key and wiper caps. Nice, tight fit.
  6. What does a + 30 offset look like

18x9 +18 offset with 275/70/18. Pokes just enough to look “tough” but not enough to sling crap all over the Jeep. Last photo is with 1” spacer lift.
  7. Boring thread but which company for all weather mats?

I found a front/rear set of Trushield mats on XT for under $90, so I gave them a shot. So far so good.
  8. Too much tire poke?

    18x9 +18 offset with 275/70/18. I wanted minimal poke, since it’s a DD.
  9. Oil change frequency, dealer told me DO NOT use service required alert?

Amen, brother. I was always every 3k as well and many times even fewer miles with cars I was racing. I think 5-6k is a good balance of modern tech and traditional thinking.
  10. 18 x 7.5 vs 18 x 9 wheels

I have 18x9 +18 offset with 275/70/18 tires. Zero rubbing with no lift. I added a 1” Teraflex spacer lift, just for a touch more fender clearance.
  11. BLACK Wrangler JL Club

Couple photos after the 1” Teraflex spacer lift.
  12. Tried searching, couldn’t find specific answer. Wisdom needed

A couple photos. 1” Teraflex spacer lift and 33’s.
  13. 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine

FWIW, The turbocharger itself is a Garrett, not an in-house FCA product. Garrett has been in the racing world, producing turbos, for quite some time. I’m not worried about the turbocharger. The engine is still yet to be truly proven, but seems to be doing pretty well so far.
  14. Direct Injection carbon & other 2.0T issues

I know DI engines can build up carbon quickly if they run at idle for long periods of time, so try to avoid that. I popped the motor in my old company vehicle at 50k miles, Ford Escape turbo, likely from all the sitting in parking lots, idling, while working on PC or on phone. And a good ole...
  15. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

3 coats of Scotchgard on seats and carpet.
  16. Spacer Lift Recommendations

I have 33’s as well and did two stacked .5” Teraflex spacers on the 4 corners for a 1” all-around lift. My Sport Altitude has the same shocks as your Sahara. Rides great. It’s my wife’s DD and she has noticed zero difference in ride quality. Sorry I don’t have any quality pics yet, just did lift...
  17. Oil change frequency, dealer told me DO NOT use service required alert?

I'll probably do my first oil change at 3k miles. I'm at 1,200 miles now. After that, at least 5k intervals.
  18. When will Flat Black go away

I like a mixture of gloss and flat or satin black. I agree that black wheels still look cool but I went a different route with mine. Machined face KMC wheels.
  19. Tried searching, couldn’t find specific answer. Wisdom needed

Its cold, wet and nasty here, today, but I’ll try to get some over the next few days with a similar angle to the “before”.
  20. Tried searching, couldn’t find specific answer. Wisdom needed

Spacers installed today. Looks, rides and drives great. Fingers crossed that all is well. Thanks for the responses, guys!
