  1. Ever buy a Jeep on a whim? We just did.

What you call a “whim” my wife calls “impulse control issues“ when I get around shiny 2 or 4 wheeled objects - though she didn’t complain at all when I impulse bought a Willys JL for her last year. @ronstar I can relate to the C5 ’vette for JL trade
  2. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Made the mistake of showing your post to the wife. Could you please share the source of those shoes?
  3. MOJITO! Wrangler JL Club

I got a chance to snap a Gecko vs. Mojito! comparison in full-on sunshine. While Gecko is a nice color choice if you’re shopping new, the lack of pearl/metallic in the paint base and the brightness of the color tends to hide contours - gives the impression that I over-exposed the photo. In my...
  4. What did you PARK NEXT to in your Jeep today?

Update to my original post: there’s been upgrades to both my Jeep and my workspace
  5. What Non-Factory Mod is Absolutely Worth Every Penny

Console lid cover from Bartact - especially with manual transmission where your elbow is constantly rubbing across the console
  6. Improvements of JL by model year?

Don’t know if this is a year-to-year improvement or if it is a model upgrade: The wife’s ‘20 Willys has denser carpet with heavier backing than my ‘18 Sport
  7. Improvements of JL by model year?

Mostly due to mods, recalls and TSBs done on my Jeep; here’s what I know about: The interior dome lamp on the 2018s only lights the center lamp with door openings; 2019&up lights the center lamp and all four map lamps with door openings. The early track bar was upgraded to address some steering...
  8. Terrific Aftermarket Fob I came across

Waterproofing crossed my mind as well. My thought was a bead of silicone caulk around the clamshell seam with a dot of caulk over the screw head would be all that’s needed seal the fob.
  9. Terrific Aftermarket Fob I came across

Got my Threedom fob case & key adapter today. Went with the most plain version to stay in the spirit of my zero-option JLU Sport. Getting the RFID chip out of the original was the most difficult step in swapping over the fob guts - the QR-linked tutorial video was helpful. Here’s another pic of...
  10. First Preview of Easter Jeep Safari Concepts, Including Magneto Wrangler EV Concept

Despite the orange-red color clash, the restomod Commando does it for me. Would risk whiplash for those low-back bucket seats... Will Jeep ever admit their mistake of not offering body colored dash panels? It’s sad that the JL interior is dull enough to make plaid seat inserts look great...
  11. Gas Cap Cover

I put the black version of the Mopar cover on the wife’s JL last week and can confirm it does have the gasket.
  12. JLs in the family

I’m pretty sure the son in law has half the Quadratec catalog on order by now. Mods on mine are winding down - right now, there’s only a big brake kit waiting for warmer weather to install. Though I’d like to do more, a few tasteful stickers is all the wife has allowed for her Willys so far...
  13. JLs in the family

First my ‘18 Mojito Sport, then the wife’s ‘20 Bikini Willys and last week my daughter got a ‘21 Sting Gray Freedom Edition. According to my daughter, I ”started a trend”
  14. Jeeps in Snow... post pics.

Needed to go to the office today. After a week, I‘m more than tired of this crap - the only good place for frozen water is in a margarita
  15. 2021 Wrangler Willy's - two weeks since purcase - 300 miles on it - won't start

    * If it’s in the fine print of the paperwork you signed, then it‘s deceptive, but legal. Otherwise, it’s an invasion of privacy. *the extent of my legal qualification is that my wife watches Judge Judy
  16. 2021 Wrangler Willy's - two weeks since purcase - 300 miles on it - won't start

A few other threads have shown a similar LoJack / immobilizer device tapped into the scan port. These things are installed by your sleazy dealer to make repoing your Jeep easier for them. It’s likely your issue is entirely due to the poor workmanship of your lazy sleazeball dealer, not FCA. If...
  17. Top 10 things Jeep should have done

    1. Offer an I-6 or a smallish (4.8 to 5.3L) V-8 tuned to make torque at lower revs - personally, I see the 392 Hemi more as a means to get bragging numbers at a premium price rather than a practical application for the JL 2. Pair the above engine with a manual transmission 3. thru 9. Eliminate...
  18. Jeeps parking next to Jeeps... post yours!

Bikini by bikini (pic credit goes to my wife)
  19. **For Sale**. Say hello to my future overland trailer. 2020 JTUR bed box.

To my eye, the JT bed looks to set the axle too far forward to be well balanced for trailer use. Though, you could bias weight toward the trailer tongue. Locating a water tank in the alcove at the front of the bed might be a good solution. I wouldn’t give up on the aluminum frame idea just yet...
