  1. Your take on the RTT vs. Ground tent debate

Never once in my tents either. And yes I know tarantula bites are not poisonous and may not even break skin. No a spider doesn't scare me. Camping with two little girls and my wife, they could care less to all this knowledge lol. Saw one hiking and one hiding in my friends firewood pile last...
  2. Your take on the RTT vs. Ground tent debate

Converted to a RTT tent two months ago and I'll never go back to the ground. Camp maybe 20 times a year, many of those in Joshua Tree. For years, I could never justify to myself the cost, weight, potential loss of site, and other cons to purchasing a RTT. Came across a small business selling...
  3. Dee Zee rack for Roof Top Tents

Thanks to this post, got the DeeZee rack on Amazon. Awesome. Three trips to Big Bear and one to Joshua Tree. About 1k miles with the rack, no issues. Install was a pain, but what install isn't. Feel the weight is evenly distributed and has handled trails well. I've removed the rack twice with...
  4. Show Off Your Scenic Jeep Photos

Joshua Tree with the family. Find a campsite and enjoy. Highly recommend this time of the year.
  5. California FS in San Diego: Standard JLU Soft Top

Can't tell from the pictures. Two or four door?
  6. Big Bear offroading

Anyone know if the trails are back open? Know lots of things we're precautiosly closed due to the fires. Wanna take some friends around 3N16.
  7. Rubicon Suspension on a Wrangler Sport?

Did the swap about 1.5yrs ago. Been awesome for me. Two additional things, added .5 spacer up front for a cleaner level stance. Second, the longer LCA's from the Mopar lift kit to assist with handling. All recommendations from the shop and from some gentleman on the forum. Couldn't be happier.
  8. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Rubicon take off shocks, front end .5 spacer, 33" KO2. FWIW PSI was down to 20ish and had around 200lbs of cargo and two passengers with those pictures.
  9. What did you do WITH your Jeep today.

Dirt therapy. Solo trip Holcomb Valley, Big Bear.
  10. Jeep vs Flood Water

https://abc7.com/weather/arizona-flash-flooding-prompts-dramatic-rescue/10888440/ Freedom panels for the win. Everyone was saved.
  11. Amazon wheels

-12mm offset. Always been a fan of going out passed the fenders for that wide look. Paired with the Rubicon stubby bumper, the offset seems even wider.
  12. Anyone consider the Gladiator before going with the JLU?

Coming from an F150, I really considered the JT. Going from a full size to medium size was a large downgrade in cabin space, towing, comfort without significant gains in trail performance. Love my JL. Appropriate size and capability off and on road for my needs. Larger enclosed cabin to keep...
  13. North Carolina Console pocket next to Gear shifter

Agree with all your reasons. Especially the airbag pocket. So dangerous. Currently have that same Amazon side seat pocket for my wife. Perfect for her phone and makeup. Also a good french fry holder when I'm eating on the go.
  14. How are your cloth seats holding up?

Two years no issues. I'm an ER nurse and wipe down the Jeep surfaces (ie steering wheel, handles, seats) with various disinfectant wipes after getting home for a string of shifts. No discoloration or break down compared to the passenger seat. That abuse plus regular outdoor abuse and they still...
  15. Ebay Rubi Steel Bumper (not a knock-off) pretty legit!

Purchased mine from Amazon also. No the plastic stock splash guard/skid plate won't fit. I'm sure if ya get creative and cut it you could fabricate something. The filler panel between the bumper and grill fit fine. Good luck with the install. Everything went find but switched out the LED fogs to...
  16. Ebay Rubi Steel Bumper (not a knock-off) pretty legit!

Same Ebay steel bumper but purchased mine from Amazon for ease of return purposes. Have had it for about two months. No complaints from me. Love the cost/look. Like how the there's a winch cover for the opening since I'm still looking. There were no provided instructions, so will probably have...
  17. Amazon wheels

The first picture I was on stock sport shocks. I was weighed down pretty heavy with summer camping gear and water. This picture is with Rubicon take off shocks, so about 1.5 of lift (highly recommend). About same amount of gear/weight too. Tires are Rubicon take off's also. Weight difference...
  18. Amazon wheels

I've had this Rocktrix set up about six months. Same offset and size. Purchased the set of four and the fifth separately. Pretty big discount purchasing the set as opposed to individually from what I remember. On desert dirt for around 100 miles every month. No issues or fading. Just a ton of...
  19. Happy New Year's!

Purchased my JL and joined the Jeep community this day one year ago. Just want to say thanks to this community for all the knowledge, laughs, and feedback. I'm an ER nurse and have turned heavily to the world the JL provides as an escape from the stress for me and my family. Dirt roads...
  20. Ebay Rubi Steel Bumper (not a knock-off) pretty legit!

Also avaliable on Amazon now. Received mine on the 12/24. Took 3 days shipping from Oakland, Ca to Orange County. Was cautious like everyone else but the return policy is standard Amazon. Install tomorrow. I'll post here for any issues.
