  1. 2021 JLUR 3.6L AWE Trail Edition Exhaust

Resurrecting this one. I have the trail on a 3.6 manual. It's a bit of a love / hate relationship. When I'm cruising around town at a constant speed it sounds great. When I want to blip the throttle for a little roar it sounds great. Where it doesn't do well - accelerating through the...

  4. DIY Centerforce flywheel and clutch install

Really good work Toy. I did a google image search on the gen 3 and looks like there are similar CF clutches for other vehicles (saw one for a 5.7L) - so may be going to parts bin to find a better solution. Definitely keep us posted as you install / learn more. Until then I'll keep rocking...
  5. DIY Centerforce flywheel and clutch install

I was replying to the comment someone made last Friday that they just received the 'newly redesigned' clutch. I've had my 'new version' in for over a year - so curious if we are talking the same clutch or if there is a latest and greatest version as of the last month or so...

Any info on what has changed between designs? I’m on design three and curious what has been improved as I would consider my version ok at best.

  9. How Many Miles on Your Manual Transmission/Clutch?

I snaked through the 'Similar threads' below and found my way to trans fluid change thread. A few others posted same lock out issue. Fluid change helped some, not others. The one it didn't help also had a CF clutch...
  10. How Many Miles on Your Manual Transmission/Clutch?

30k miles on mine. I have two different CF clutches in it. This was after OEM would burn after minimal input, for example backing up a driveway. My shifter engagement stinks. It will hang in gears or not engage. I'll have to rock it back to a different gear to get the gear I want to...
  11. 'A' - with yellow circle arrow around it (dash light)

I do have a 6MT w 37" tires. The tazer website says there is a process you need to go through - resetting, driving in top gear over 45mph for over 60 seconds or something like that. Didn't work. Others set you need to reset the ESS battery by unplugging it from where it is wired by the frame...

It is interesting that for several months CF has not had the Jeep clutch on their website either. Wonder if they cut bait given the factory 'looseness' you reference..... They only offer a 'tube'.....
  14. MotorTrend: Bronco vs Wrangler - Which is Best?

Did the Rubicon not have the 8.4" touchscreen option? In the video it was called out for being tiny and it did look small - or that dude has huge hands. Perhaps more apples to apples with the 8.4"
  15. DIY Centerforce flywheel and clutch install

Guess I'll add my update after several months and several thousand miles as well. Clutch engagement is great. I still have sporadic shifting issues - it won't go smoothly from N to first from a stop. I have to rock it back slightly into second or fourth gear then that 'opens the gate' for...
  16. How was your 392 insurance premiums?

Keep in mind, insurance has an algorithm developed by NASA. Throwing out $ / time will vary by state, age, gender, marital status, bundling factors (is auto combined w house), driving history, etc. Agree shopping around is the best bet. But if you are single, 18, male, rent an apartment, and...

  18. Clear vinyl wrap for paint protection

Not sure if I follow. Instead of protecting your investment for 5-10 years you would just buy a new one every few years? I guess if it was stock sure, but to re-modify suspension, drivetrain, etc. on top of the used/new car offset, you'd exceed the cost of wrapping it multiply times over. I...
  19. Clear vinyl wrap for paint protection

Anyone try any of the heavier duty/thicker wraps for protection on the trail? I have some minor pin striping on my JLUR and I don't mind it, but after five years I may not have paint left. The trails in my area are heavily forested and you are often plowing through tree branches..
  20. Clutch Question

I have the Centerforce clutch. It took them a few iterations (my third version) before getting it mostly right. The clutch itself is fine, but occasionally it will hang up on shifting gears. Seems to increase when you've been driving for a long time with lots of shifting (i.e. city). I also...
