  1. Factory Installed Aux Switch Relays and Fuses

It was covered under warranty. The Aux Switches and Tow Package were factory installed options. The factory installed the wrong PDC so the options never worked from day one. I just ignored it until I had to bring the Jeep tot the dealer for other things. Namely paint bubbling... which they're...
  2. Paint Issues

I too have bubbling paint around all door and hood hinges. I brought my 2018 JLUR to my local dealer and they are telling me that it is covered under warranty, but that their preferred body shop is booked indefinitely and that I'll have to take it up with the selling dealer.... isn't a warranty...
  3. Factory Installed Aux Switch Relays and Fuses

Sorry for the 1 year delay on response... LOL! Anyway, yes, they just fixed it. Had to replace the PDC (fuse box).
  4. Factory Installed Aux Switch Relays and Fuses

I finally brought the Jeep to the dealer and they had to replace the PDC (Power Distribution Center, AKA: fuse box). The factory installed PDC had no lugs soldered to the main circuit board for the factory installed Aux Switches and Trailer Plug.... So, it's resolved some 2.5 years later.
  5. Paint bubbling issues, dealer runaround...

Hey all, I brought my 2018 JLUR into my local dealer (not the dealer I purchased from) for a variety of warranty issues: 1) Bubbling paint around door and hood hinges. 2) Inoperative factory installed Aux Switches. (They replaced the Power Distribution Center) 3) Inoperative factory installed...

  7. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

Wow, just catching up here. Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, Dusy was a dusy! We went with one other Jeep ('15 JK 2 door with 35's, 3-1/2" JCR lift, Fox shox, and lots of other goodies) and took two days to go through. Our only issue was that we didn't bring enough warm clothing or winter...
  8. MetalCloak 3.5” lift kit for JL Wrangler

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, they sent out new springs and bushings. No problems so far. Once again, MC has great customer service.
  9. MetalCloak 3.5” lift kit for JL Wrangler

MC is a great company with good customer service. I know they will take care of me. Manufacturing is a tough business and there are certain things you can't control unless you do it yourself. MC does not manufacture their springs or Rocksport shocks and I honestly don't know if they make...
  10. MetalCloak 3.5” lift kit for JL Wrangler

I just completed Dusy Ershim Trail with my 3.5" Game Changer Rocksport system... on the road I like the ride. It's a little squishy, but the shocks do ok for the price point. However, on big trails they leave a lot to be desired. In fact, they are severely underwhelming. I'll be switching to...
  11. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

Absolutely! I liked the way my bumpers and sliders looked without paint. At some point maybe I’ll go back and build it all again out of stainless. Aside from the DOM tubing I used whatever material I had laying around. I also thought it might be cool to have everything hot dip galvanized. Good...
  12. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

I fabricated them form 1"x2-1/2" Hot Rolled Flat Bar. I simply cut 45˙ angles to the exposed side and drilled 1" holes. And yes, they go through the bumper and to the frame mount flanges and got welded to in multiple spots. The only way they're coming off is if the frame tears off... And yes...
  13. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

I went with some offshore brand from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076P5VQGK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I"m installing a set of UD60's in a few months so I went cheap. They work perfectly. Edit: I forgot to get enough lug nuts for the spare too! Don't make my...
  14. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

Oh yeah, I have tested them and they work like a charm! I've done the old drop onto a rock ledge thing a few times and used them to pivot around countless obstacles. They have been on the Rubicon Trail, Barrett Lake Trail, Sierra Buttes and down through the Gold Lake OHV area.... I wouldn't...
  15. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

I haven't had much time for wrenching lately and my date with Dusy Ershim Trail is coming up fast! -Replaced squished OEM steering stabilizer with a Fox ATS unit in a high mount situation. -Installed Mountain Off Road evap canister skid. -Installed Motobilt diff covers, as my OEM units were...
  16. JK to JL compatibility listing

Drive shaft interchangeability? I noticed that MetalCloak has the same part number for their 2012 and up JK front DS as their JL front DS. Does this mean the Teraflex JK high angle Rzeppa will work on the JL? I do have an old 2 door JK front DS, so I could check, but I'm too busy typing right...
  17. Engine oil type and amount

I can tell you that the oil pan on my JL is about half the size as the one on my JK. That might be a start.
  18. MetalCloak 3.5” lift kit for JL Wrangler

I'm running them now. On the road they seem ok, definitely better than the OEM Rubicon shocks with the Game Changer system. When I install my UD60's I'll switch to Accutune Fox shocks. I think the extra 1/2" of travel that is offered by the Rocksports over the Fox shocks doesn't amount to much...
  19. Aux Switches - Lights on but no angry pixies

Michael, Thanks for those photos and description! I do have the factory installed Towing and Aux Switch options, BUT, at the factory, they neglected to install the correct fuse box with relays and fuses! How I discovered this is, I had my dealer send me fuses and relays, but when I went to...
  20. Ethan's Silver JLUR Build -- with fabrication involved

My shocks showed up today! If I'm lucky and have time I'll be able to install them this weekend. They look like your average OEM shock. Hopefully they'll perform better than they look.... I would expect them to compete with Rancho or Bilstein.
