  2. Recall Notice 21V-028 [1/28/21]: Manual Transmission / Clutch Overheat Covers All 2018-2021 Jeep Wranglers Produced by January 22, 2021

Really? Mine will idle just below 1k. If I don't rev to at least 1.5 it is not a smooth start. Strangest clutch ever.

So, what is the over under on a recall on all of the clutches? Unrelated, what RPM do people bring their vehicles up to when starting from 0?

  5. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I am working on getting the update scheduled. Missed a call from the dealership earlier in the week. It will be interesting to see if there is any change in the way the B.O.B. shifts after the update. Well, how the clutch responds.

I have to say, that looks nice. Did you do the work yourself? And for the springs, did you get them from the dealer or did you find them after market. Looks great by the way.!
  7. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

The only strange behaviour I had with my clutch was a rattle that I would get if I did not give the engine enough RPMs when in first. With the stereo being so loud and then engine so quiet, I have had a hard time always ensuring I was getting enough RPMs. Then again, could be the way the gas...
  8. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

I thought that was the only option. Did they switch them out for you? Personally, I love the way the tires look. Living in GA, they are great as well. But, YMMV
  9. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I got on FCA Chat and asked if it was safe to drive. This was the canned response Thank you for holding Eric. This recall was issued to address a potential for clutch assembly overheating. Customer feedback prompted an FCA investigation that identified a potential for excessive clutch-component...
  10. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Seems like, you roll the dice on this one. People make it 30k miles others make it 98. Only time will tell.

  12. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Every single manual in the JL/JLU line is affected. Anyone know at this point if it is still safe to drive? Someone posted pictures of pieces shooting through their engine. Just trying to figure out. Lucky for me, I have another vehicle to drive if I need too. As a note, I have smelt the...
  13. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

Mine was almost the same, but I opted for the backup sensors. I am in too many crowded parking lots with fast drivers not to get them. Oh, and I dropped the auto transmission. Like the build!! And the Willys!
  14. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

But, did you put the screws back in?
  15. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

Not saying you have good taste, but that is just like mine.

Wow. really? are you sure about that. I just got my Punk'n. They are rare, but really?
  17. Post your 2020 JL build status

Watching this thread after getting my Jeep, all I have to say is, Hang in There. It will get built, it will get shipped, and you will get it. But, checking with FCA every day never hurt anyone.
  18. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

Did you completely remove the bumper flares? Or did you use a dremel and cut them down to size?
  19. Willys Edition JL Club Thread

I need to air down my tires. They came at 41 from the dealer. Then again, I have already put 1k miles on it, and have had 0 issues. Very glad I got the Willys edition, even though I added almost all the options. Hopefully you will not experience any more issues.
