F-16 Crew Chief and automotive machinist once upon a time here. I get stink eye when I ask that my lug nuts not have a torque stick used on them. I feel like it’s a reasonable request. It’s not like it’s rocket science knowledge I’m asking for. lol
It’s difficult to find people who care...
I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but you can go to 130 ft lbs and then go 40° rotation of the bolt with an impact like the factory spec. (Double check that bolt torque and degree spec! It’s been a while so don’t trust my memory.) There’s a bolt torque table around here with that info.
Only 33k miles & ~1.5 years since we bought it brand new.. 19 Sahara 2.0 w/eTorque and it only came with the 600cca battery. It didn’t sit much. lol
No warning. Went out one morning and it was deader than a door nail.
Build date was in July ‘19. Purchased in Oct ‘19.
Oh and tires as another factor. Like a slick on a drag car, aggressive MT’s and maybe tires like my BB AT’s will be harder on the driveline? But…maybe they will bite better to not need throttle to get over the obstacle??
I can’t say I’ve really pushed mine. 4.56’s, 34.5” tires, RCV’s, stock open diff, Motobilt cover. I’ve gone over some 17” boulders but I didn’t need throttle to get up and over. I’m curious what the limit is though.
With my setup, I decided keeping it open but being able to crank the wheels...
I started doing that because I got tired of waiting to put my Viair 440p into the nylon bag. Just keep an old water bottle nearby. I usually still wait a couple of minutes and then use the water hoping it won’t crack anything.
Blue Ridge Overland tool bag with 6 individual pouches here too. I have 90+ % of my tools, zip ties, duct tape, bailing wire, magnet, emergency needs, etc in there. The other things I bring are too big like a torque wrench. It’s one of my favorite purchases.
I have around 13k miles and a few off road/trail outings with the Rubigrid by Bulletpoint. It’s still great for the money but there is just a hair more movement on washboard roads than there initially was.
If you run it, I’d put all the 20mm balls on one after another that way it’s future...
