  1. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I have just been thinking about that. It may never see the dealer again.
  2. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I love my Jeep and I have been thinking about my options over the last few days due to the clutch issues. 1. Sell it. 2. Trade it for an automatic. 3. Have a Centerforce clutch installed. Option 1 isn't really an option because well, I love my Jeep. As for option 2, I've decided I'm never...
  3. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

I’m not sure if you guys have seen this, but I received an email today with this info. The remedy is now to reduce engine torque. Smh.
  4. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

So far the coating is holding up great with no issues with adhesion. I did do a thorough sanding to remove the slick finish before spraying and I wiped them down with lacquer thinner to get any oils from my hands off of them.
  5. Dealer wants me to sign a new lease contract

It’s a long thread and I haven’t read all of it, so this may have been said. I’m no longer in the car business, but I did at one time work in F&I for a dealer. There is typically a conditional delivery document that is signed, which protects the dealer from mistakes and the risk of...
  6. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

This sounds like an interesting concept. I wouldn't have been interested because I wanted something beefier that the stock rails; however, there are plenty of Rubicon owners out there who will not ever remove the stock rails. I think it would come down to aesthetics and how rigid they are once...
  7. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. Can''t wait to see yours when you get it. Congrats on the new Jeep and being in the 2-door family. At least for a bit is right. You're never really done. To answer your question from above, that is correct, you do not need to remove the body mount bolts...
  8. Jeep JL Exhaust options - 3.6L

I have the Dynomax muffler delete installed on my Jeep as well and have mixed feelings about it. There is quite a bit of drone and it does sound ricey at times like you said. I do have a 2-door, so I'm a little closer to it which could make the drone a little more noticeable. For the money...
  9. ESS start/stop not working properly!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought I'd follow up on this for others with the same issue. I have confirmed that the Service ESS issue occurs when I shift into 5th gear just like you said. I did try using the button on the dash to turn off the ESS, but the issue still occurred. I have yet to find a good solution and have...
  10. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

In my humble opinion there isn't anything wrong with mall crawling. A love for Jeeps is a love for Jeeps. You'll still empty your pockets just like the rest of us. Haha! As far as frame mounted vs. body mounted goes, it's really a matter of personal preference. I do occasionally take my...
  11. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

I purchased a wiring harness off of Amazon that does have connectors that will terminate at the rails so I can quickly disconnect them if I need to take them off to be repainted etc... I believe it will work, but there are some unknowns until I actually dig into the install.
  12. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

I did sand mine with 120, because that is what I had laying around. You could use a finer grit as well. You just want to sand the shine/slickness off the surface of the factory coating. There are some areas where you can't get to inside of the rails. I sanded those areas the best I could and...
  13. ESS start/stop not working properly!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a way late response, but yes I have changed my tire size. I didn't use a Taser, but did use another brand to adjust the computers tire size. I had thought the issue was occurring when the Jeep was hot after driving a while and never made a connection to 5th gear, but that is likely the...
  14. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

Sorry about the delay in making an update. I was trying to get the rails sprayed, but it kept raining every afternoon here in NC and I needed to spray them outside. Finally go them done. I ended up roughing up the brackets with some sandpaper and spraying them with black Rustoleum to get an...
  15. My ROAM 2-Door Rock Rails/Steps/Sliders Feedback / Review

So, I pulled the trigger and bought a set of the frame mounted ROAM Offroad Sliders/Steps for my 2-Door JL for $499. I think they are $699 for the 4-Door. There are a few write ups about them already, but I still see a lot of questions as well, so I thought I’d share my thoughts from unpacking...
  16. North Carolina Roll Call

I ordered the frame mounted version. To me it makes sense to have a rail separate from the body and I’ve also read all the stories about the body bolts breaking off when installing the rails that rely on those mounts for installation. As far as I know there is only one finish, which Roam...
  17. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Took my Jeep into the local dealership for the clutch recall. Fairly anticlimactic. They bled the system and installed the sleeve. Found no leaks. The clutch feels the same as it did before I took the Jeep in. Has little tension when pressing the clutch pedal.
  18. North Carolina Roll Call

I have a set of these sitting in my garage for install this weekend. Once I install, I should have some insight on the wiring of the LEDs. Will report back.
  19. ESS start/stop not working properly!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a manual and I just have started having this issue. The dash warning light comes on saying the auto start/stop system needs to be serviced after I drive it for 30-45 min. The system works fine up until that point. When this happens the backup camera also stops working, which I find to...
