  1. Rockslide Rotopax mount (slight) anti-theft.

Bike lock ? As in one of those cable locks for bikes that are 3 or 6 feet long? I had three of them to protect my electric mountain bike from being stolen from my JTs bike rack. Thief didn't know I have motion sensor HD video cams with night vision and I caught him and his accomplice on...
  2. AUX Switches: Cable COLOR CODE Wiring Identification

So there is lots of great info here. Been digging around for a few hours trying to find the ones inside, going to take another stab at it tomorrow. Sucks that Jeep didn't make the ACC/On wire inside more than 10amps. Gonna have to waste a switch with the 40 amp circuit for my ham...
  3. Show Your Badges of Honor On Your Rig

Dune driving not much, air down your tires to between 10 and 15 lbs. Mud driving, avoid mud like Covid. Nothing good comes out of driving in the mud or even water.
  4. Show Your Badges of Honor On Your Rig

Right now I'm looking at the end of Aug sometime

  6. Show Your Badges of Honor On Your Rig

I had all 49 trails before they switched to the new style and never took them off when they sent the box of new ones. #50 is the new style as will all 6 of the other new trails they added last year
  7. Show Your Badges of Honor On Your Rig

I need to take a new picture with #50 on it. Hitting the road in May to do the last 6 trails in my JTR between May and Sept. Going to revisit another dozen or so along the way. Wish they'd send a duplicate when do you did a trail more than once but they told me they don't do that.
  8. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

Our club did the AZ Peace Trail from KIingman to Yuma over 4 days last fall. We got into some interesting areas where one of our members in a one week old JLR go so pinstriped his wife had tears in her eyes. Once you've gotten pinstriped, it doesn't much matter after that ;)
  9. Who actually takes their JL offroad?

Overlander here, got rock crawling out of my veins long ago. Nice 800-1000 miles or more trips that last a week or longer. Have done all of the BDRs, Heart of West Trail and many more. Figure I do an average of 4000 or more miles a year off road.
  10. 4xe Rubicon vs Standard Rubicon price analysis (with tax credits)

Name of Colorado dealers ? Do they participate in the Tread Lightly FCA discount program ?
  11. 4xe Rubicon vs Standard Rubicon price analysis (with tax credits)

I would say good luck getting any deal for at least the 1st 6 months. Dealers are selling these above sticker price I've heard. Local dealer told me they are taking bids starting at $5K above MSRP. I would say at this early stage of the game, take your pick of dealers, majority of them...
  12. Insight needed from Rubicon owners

I think you know everything and have an answer for everything. Top of the World would not be a doable walk out with a broken leg, rattlesnake bite or any other type of accident or medical emergency. I hope you never experience one but your basic skills won't mean anything if you are...
  13. Insight needed from Rubicon owners

I disagree it is luck. Even the most experienced drivers can get themselves in trouble that they can't get out of. I've been off roading for 47 years, I've been in search and rescue, Sheriffs dept and more, I've seen it all. I've seen experienced and inexperienced both die on the...
  14. Insight needed from Rubicon owners

The long and short of this is that there are plenty of factual accounts of people going out alone and ending up dead either with their vehicle or trying to hike it out. It is foolish to think that no matter how prepared you are that you can ride out alone and come back 100% of the time in...
  15. Insight needed from Rubicon owners

I've owned 36 Jeeps since 1972 The Rubicons are by far the best for off road and the best for holding their value to sell or trade later. Don't waste your money on the factor steel bumper options and save it for a quality after market bumper. The price isn't much different and the...
  16. My 392 Rubicon order is showing a price now ($77k) !!!

Have you seen the you tube videos of a diesel JL/JT whooping a hemi in the 1/4 mile.
  17. My 392 Rubicon order is showing a price now ($77k) !!!

Trying to keep the price under 80K so none of the best goodies like the Mojave. Probably want to buy one now if you want as the Green New Deal and new Carb standards Congress is likely to enact are going to kill the V8 in the Wrangler line.
  18. 4xe Rubicon vs Standard Rubicon price analysis (with tax credits)

I just ordered a diesel and it was a $4000 option not a $4500 option.
  19. 4xe Rubicon vs Standard Rubicon price analysis (with tax credits)

Nope my retirement and social security are not taxable so the tax credit means nothing to me unfortunately. Decided to go with the 3.0 TD instead for less $$ and potentially less problems with this new technology.
