  1. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

It really depends. It is not a common oil. Sometimes you can find it but most times you cannot. I feel safe by saying you probably won't find it in store at Walmart. But it's possible.
  2. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

@Plongson -- you bring up a very valid point. Fiat has spent a ton of money in research and developing as low as an emission spouting engine as they can and potentially for argument's sake has decided to sacrifice engine longevity in order to meet mandated quotas in smog production. I kind of...
  3. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

The bad part about all of this is we won't know what damage is being done until well into the life of the engine.
  4. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

@Om4r As previously stated in this thread Rotella and t6 ( the same thing) are not approved for the Gen 3 diesels. Take your s*** back and get it fixed. And point your finger right in their face telling them that they messed up.
  5. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

Finally had my first service and oil change done. I knew that I might have to go to bat regarding the correct oil so I told the service tech that my Jeep takes different oil than the gen 2 diesels and he said yeah he knew. Fast forward and I check the parts list when picking the Jeep up and...
  6. Tazer JL - Z Automotive, seeks 3.0D for tests - New York area

Worked just fine for me. I also like the addition of the third light pulsing. Slick.
  7. AFe CAI for diesel JL

I haven't done the muffler delete but these types of applications, ie. changes made behind diesel emissions devices, do not affect the engine output. This would only change the tone.
  8. Tazer JL - Z Automotive, seeks 3.0D for tests - New York area

No. I corrected my original post. Sorry for my poor choice in terminology.
  9. Tazer JL - Z Automotive, seeks 3.0D for tests - New York area

I have an update. We got a local JLUR-D over to them and the patches are in Alpha phases right now. Everything is working and with luck will be pushed out in the next update. Thanks to LottaBoot
  10. Gladiator Trailer Brake Controller also works on Wrangler JL

@RonAZ Could you post a pic? I'm curious where you put it and how it turned out.
  11. Gladiator Trailer Brake Controller also works on Wrangler JL

@Parratt I've done a lot of research into this topic and this happens to be my vocational wheelhouse. The short answer, no. The reason is two fold, and there will likely be someone who will disagree with me. The wheelbase on JLU's is too short and makes wrangler-trailer combinations prone to...

  13. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

I just wanted to clarify for the group, Mopar Oil; 68231021AA is for the 5 liter jug. 68231020AA is for the 1 quart bottle. Most dealers (in my area) are carrying our oil by the quart.
  14. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

@LowBama good eye. And good on you for pushing for proof. Hopefully that Service manager apologized and tried to offer a discount or something to make up for their mistake and wasting a day of your life.
  15. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

Do any of you gents have access to that TSB specifically stating to not use T-6. I remember reading it recently but cant find it now.
  16. First Diesel Oil Change

@BuffaloBill thanks for the write up.
  17. First Diesel Oil Change

Shit, now something else to worry about. I wonder if the dealer can just give me the supplies and i do the service at home myself. Torque specs correct, parts correct, everything done right. I've never been burned by a dealer oil change but they definitely are lazy. Spilled oil, slightly...
  18. Looking into a JLU EcoDiesel order - so anyone on here actually have a good experience with the engine?

Yet another example of the start/stop feature on the diesel being dumb. Diesels want to stay hot and want to work.
  19. EcoDiesel Muffler Delete

Changes from the rear axle and back will not affect the emissions. A muffler now a days barely does anything on a modern diesel because of all the emissions control devices. Remember back in the day when the exhaust would simply come out through the header, down the collector and pipe, and then...
