8 months later from the new steering box and all is well. Drove over 1,000 miles last weekend and the Jeep drove like a dream, no slop on the highway, tracking centerline, no drifting and the drive was very relaxing as far as steering goes. Highly recommend pushing to get the box replaced if...
Yes Katzkin. I ordered the Jeep with cloth seats then ordered these through a Canadian Katzkin site and had a local installer do the work. The seats make me smile every time I get in. I’ve had them on for 3 years are they are still like new.
Thanks to everyone's contribution to this thread. I got my 2018 JLUS back from the dealer yesterday with the new box installed and the feel is greatly improved. I followed everyone advice here, cycled the steer wheel several times, check the fluid, made sure the box was black steel not...
I couldn't wait any longer so this Spring I bought the JCR doors and had them painted to match...enjoyed them all summer.
I bought the Bestop soft uppers and moded them to fit in case of a rainstorm. Not a perfect solution but it works for me and put a smile on my face all Summer.
This TSB credits the dealership with less hours than it actually takes to swap the box and Jeep corporate has a much lower per hour labor reimbursement than the dealer charges for retail repair. Bottom line, the dealership is taking a billable tech offline for unprofitable work. This is one...
That's what my dealer did with me. I took it in for the box TSB and they said they wanted to replace the trackbar and right control arm first. Surprise . . surprise, no change to the dead spot. Back the dealer to hopefully get on the list for the box.
I think your jeep looks great. My soft rear uppers arrived today and I'll get them aligned and post pictures but in the meantime, I really like the look of yours.
To me, there is nothing comparable on the market.
Good looking jeep. Agree with all your points on the write up and I'd like to add that I got a lot more leg room around the knees with the JCR doors since the doors are about 3" thinner than the full doors. At 6'4" that extra room is nice.
As soon as I saw a JKU with half doors I knew I wanted a pair for my '14 JKUR but the price was too steep for 4 Mopar 1/2 doors and uppers and I had my eye on a new '18 JLUS anyway so I didn't want to spend the time on new doors just to sell the jeep.
Enter 2018, bought new Ocean Blue JLUS...
I couldn't wait any longer for the Mopar doors. I bought the JCR doors and had them painted. Makes me smile every time I look at her. Working on modifying the Bestop Soft Uppers to fit right now...stay tuned.
I got the twill front uppers from Bestop and I’m working on modifying them to fit. The sill of the front doors are about 1” too high, so I cut the frame of the soft doors by an inch and a half and now I’m looking for someone to spot weld the frame back together.
i’ll get the internal frame...
$129.00 five minutes to plug it in and I never again think about ESS resetting everytime I turn on the Jeep. My setting stays in place from one start to another:
