I just installed my Rhino-rack backbone today and noticed the mounts move a bit. Is this expected??
I made sure everything is seated, but the bolts have shoulders on them that seem to bottom out on the nut and not tighten to the top. Could be the design, but I wanted to check.

Awesome setup!! The trap door to the lower bin is trick.
Since I started this thread, i‘ve switched to the full hardtop with the Rhino Rack ano iKamper as well. That frees up a lot of space in the cab.
How did you end up mounting the iKamper to the platform? Just drilled through it?
not sure exactly, but within the last year as far as i have researched.
they both fail, just in different ways. The rubber bushings break apart and eventually wobble. The roller bearings seem to have this from the start.
Agreed - noise implies movement. Movement of something that’s intended to be stable is bad.
If I hold my finger on the joint of the bearing while my son shakes it, i can feel it move with the tip of my finger.
literally exactly what they told me. I laughed at the guy.
The noise isn’t “normal” and moment of the bearing isn’t good. It fundamentally changes the suspension angles (albeit small)
im ordering the @Clayton Off Road stuff Monday, I think. Hopefully they will let my son pick it up.
Check my video previously - they have switched to roller bearings on the forged track bar. They also confirmed to me that these are roller bearing while trying to diagnose the issues with mine. I guess they just haven’t updated the site.
otherwise I wouldn’t have purchased this myself.
I don’t think longevity is a good barometer for (nor is correlated to) quality or sales volumes.
For example... Wal-mart. People will buy anything. Especially the uninformed. Marketing is often the benchmark.
I knew going into the Teraflex what I was buying. Hoped the engineering would...
Do a quick test for noise - go out to your Jeep, grab the front tow hook on one side and shake the Jeep side to side (fairly violently) to see if your track bar is making noise.
Teraflex told me they hadn’t heard any complaints, but both of my trucks do it. I even sent them a video.
I have both the front and rear track bar on 2 different 2021 JL’s (both with AEV lifts). Both of the front bars are making noise and you can feel movement in the bar when you shake the trucks side to side - neither rear bar seem to be having trouble.
Working with Teraflex on the issues, but no...
