  1. Gaia GPS or On X Offroad?

@ZigZag, I recommend trying out OSMAnd - it’s free to download and you can get free monthly map updates.
  2. Gaia GPS or On X Offroad?

Update on trying out the app OSMAnd : https://osmand.net TL;DR: It works well and I recommend it: The interface is more intuitive and capable than GaiaGPS. You can easily set up and define profiles for ordinary driving, 4x4 driving, hiking, etc. and set up what is meaningful to display on the...
  3. Gaia GPS or On X Offroad?

I am trying out a new app: OSMAnd It has both Android and iOS apps. https://osmand.net It seems promising so far. I am about to run a FunTreks trail in CO tomorrow. I downloaded the GPX file from funtreks.com, imported it into the app easily and it shows the route. I will follow it...
  4. Gaia GPS or On X Offroad?

Paid Gaia user for many years here. Unfortunately, Gaia has just been bought by another company , and it looks like its subscription fees will go up to $100 and ALL YOUR DATA, TRAVELS AND ACTIVITY will be mined by the company and shared with whoever they see fit. This last part is likely a...

I am at 13% oil life at 6,135 miles.
  6. Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

Ok, phew, I narrowly missed a bullet there! The mechanic said that I had lost a small amount of material from the parking brake, but it was still functional and no damage was done to it or anything else. I am on the road now, towing the Jeep with hopefully no more adventures…
  7. Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

Arrrgh! The best checklist is of no use when I skip over the important step of “Release Parking Brake” !!! In my defense, it was a brutally hot and humid day here and I was tired. I towed my Jeep about 2 miles with the parking brake On and was fortunately flagged down by someone who told me...
  8. Sky one touch rattling..driving me nuts!

Another update: I removed the shims and carefully sprayed WD-40 into the gap between the white plastic and the black metal rail. The squeak is gone completely!
  9. Sky one touch rattling..driving me nuts!

An update: we narrowed our squeak down to the rail above the front passenger window. I stuck in three shims from an unrelated project and the squeak stops almost completely. The shims are in the gap between the white plastic and the metal rail.
  10. Sky one touch rattling..driving me nuts!

My 2021 JLUR has just developed this rattling squeak a few days ago. It seems to come from above the front passenger seat. If the Sky Top is open, there is no squeak. If it is closed, it squeaks frequently. My wife tried pressing against the rails from inside, and it seemed to help while she...
  11. What side steps / rock rails to add to JL Wrangler?

How much does a pair of these weigh? I am close to my motorhome's 5,000 lb tow limit.
  12. Best Setup for RV Flat Tow

I did my first flat tow of my 2021 JLUR in Texas. It went pretty well. I have updated my document Tow Checklist Jeep Wrangler 2021.pdf (PDF) with some changes from the experience. The significant change was with how to set up and initialize the RVi Brake. I have a feeling that if the Start...

2021 JLUR with SkyTouch on the beach, Port Aransas, Texas.
  15. Protecting flat tow Jeep from motorhome throwing up rocks and gravel

Thanks, I have a stock JLUR with factory 33" tires too. Do you have mud flaps on the rear wheels of your tow vehicle? My motorhome doesn't, for some reason...
  16. Protecting flat tow Jeep from motorhome throwing up rocks and gravel

We have a new 2021 JLUR which I have just outfitted to flat tow behind my motorhome. What are the best solutions to avoid throwing road debris onto the Jeep? Mud flaps on the RV? Debris nets on the tow bar? Some kind of bra / deflector on the Jeep? Any and all suggestions are welcome. I...
  17. Do Rubicons have factory sliders?

Thanks, how has it worked for you and your wife?
  18. 2020 JLU Rubicon Running Boards suggestions?

Bump. I am looking for the same thing for a 2021 JLUR: a decent running board without having to remove the Rubicon slider.
  19. Do Rubicons have factory sliders?

JL-Daddy, did you find steps that worked for you? I'm in the same boat: a new 2021 4-door JLUR. I do mild off roading. I am looking for a nerf bar or running board that allows me to (preferably) keep the Rubicon sliders.
