  1. Ecodiesel vs 3.6 Litre Pentastar for long road trips in a stock JL Wrangler Sport

Nothing should freeze in the diesel until it's down into ridiculously cold temps. I have started my diesels down to -15 with no issues. I admit I haven't dealt with DEF at -15 (I'm new to DEF as of this year!), but there is a heater for the DEF so it's a non issue in my eyes. Modern diesels...
  2. I will be waving at the new Broncos

Often when I drive through the country in the middle of nowhere, the folks driving out there give me the exact same friendly wave. It is most definitely not 'a jeep thing, that belongs to jeepers'. You go out far enough in the sticks (at least over here in the western states) you're going to get...
  3. Diesel Lift Kit?

I'm pretty sure I've seen different part numbers posted for diesel vs gas coils.
  4. 3.0 MODS - Show em off

I would just get some shock extenders to tide you over. The ride will not be amazing, but it will at least be driveable. Also if they don't have the shocks you want in stock, it seems there is usually a couple month + wait. So I'd think about getting your shocks ordered sooner rather than later...
  5. EcoDiesel Muffler Delete

Yeah I remember seeing someone do it too. The point I was trying to make to Famof5jeep was that they should just remove it and hear the sound for themselves. Cost = free
  6. EcoDiesel Muffler Delete

Why don't you just remove it and see what is sounds like? There is a clamp right near the axle. Looks like that back section (that mainly consists of the muffler) would be very easy to remove. Worry about finding a muffler delete extension, after you decide if you like the sound.
  7. Diesel Fuel Additives

In this case, I can't say what I would have done or said, had you said something different. I have nothing against power service myself. I think I probably have 2 emergency bottles of the stuff. Back in the day I used to add 2 stroke oil on occasion, but I don't recall ever using ATF in my...
  8. Engine break-in plans? Who's got 'em?

Still in love! Nothing untowards to report at all, it's seemingly a damn good rig. Think we're up to 1700 miles or so.
  9. How’s your ride on 37s?

Love the ride on 37's! JLURD Stock 3.73 gears 37/13.5r17 Toyo MT's 17.5-20 mpg in town 24-26 mpg highway It ain't flat here neither..... Love this Jeep! I really need to go take some good pics of it somewhere. We stare at it a lot, but we don't take too many pictures.
  10. Diesel Fuel Additives

Thanks for sharing your opinion JJ! I hope your fuel injection system lasts a long time! Question though, why is power service the only additive you endorse? Also did you happen to check out the links I posted concerning DPF's and fuel borne catalysts? Or are you the consummate expert, that...
  11. Jeep Wave Oil Changes

I don't think there is enough we could ever say to extol the Diesel engine's virtues to the compression ignition haters. Is there nowhere else on this forum that you could try to make some good helpful posts in? It's just so odd that you guys come in here and nay say the diesels when nobody...
  12. List of Chrysler MS-12991 Engine Oil for the 3.0 EcoDiesel Jeep Wrangler

That's kinda funny. I mean, I knew dealerships were going to do this, but when it's finally confirmed, I just kinda chuckle. Yours will not be the last to get the bulk diesel oil that the dealership stocks.......
  13. Just got my JLUR E/D Sarge Green!

Looks great now, but It'll look killer naked! Congrats!
  14. Diesel Fuel Additives

As far as regular diesel additives, there are A LOT of options out there. If you are referring to the FBC, I don't know how many sources are readily available here in the states, but I have read there are a few. I bought mine from here. I would only recommend this to someone that has a way of...
  15. Diesel Fuel Additives

These links were great to get up to speed on the big picture. What is a DPF? FBC Chemistry History of DPF Additives OEM Regeneration Strategies
  16. Diesel Fuel Additives

Well, I'm finally on board the fuel additive train. Bought a new 6.7L Ford recently and after reading up on high pressure fuel pump failures I decided it was time to get fully behind the idea, that adding fuel lubricity is completely necessary. Going to use HotshotSecret EDT for lubricity and...
  17. Honest question: Wrangler Rubicon or Ford Bronco

I'd get a brand new diesel pickup and then hit the trails with the side by side. The 3.0L Jeep's are still too new, and the Bronco isn't even here yet. I guess flip a coin on that choice. Buying a first year model definitely is a gamble, but it's kinda neat to be the first one on your block, or...
  18. Anyone towing with their Diesel?

Did the same, except it was a 9000lb truck.
