  1. Quadratec Stealth winch recall

Quadratec sucks. There’s no other way to put it. True, they provided shipping both ways and repaired the faulty winch they sold me, but they totally ignore my emails when I ask them about reimbursement for the cost to remove and replacie my winch so it could be repaired. I was unable to do this...
  2. Quadratec Stealth winch recall

Has anyone seen any information on compensation to remove and replace the winch?
  3. Locker Position Sensor Potting - DANA 44

Fortunately, this has not been my experience. When my transmission went out, my dealer (Larry Miller located in Draper, Utah) promptly diagnosed and repaired the problem. Again, when my steering gear was replaced, they did it promptly (with some help from @JeepCares to expedite parts delivery)...
  4. Automatic Transmission Failure

I've not had any problems since the valve body was replaced. I’ve been back to Moab 3 times and Kanab once, doing trails rated moderate and difficult, plus 6-700 highway miles for each trip.
  5. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I hear you. I was also “on the fence” on this one.
  6. New JL Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Another steering story: My 2018 JLUR was delivered in May, 2018. I didn’t have what I considered to be extra play in the steering wheel, but I had to continually make steering corrections to keep the Jeep going straight. My dealer subsequently installed two updated steering dampers, which...
  7. Proper way to hook winch to battery

Yes, I leave the ground connected. As noted by others, this is probably an unnecessary precaution, but it only takes a couple of minutes to connect the positive cable on the rare times I need to use the winch. In the unlikely event that I have a front collision, or something shorts out in the...
  8. Proper way to hook winch to battery

Cut off a piece of 1/2 inch vinyl tubing that I had kicking around.
  9. Locker Position Sensor Potting - DANA 44

Thank you @chevymitchell. I just completed potting my sensors (2018 JLUR with 12,900 miles). There was a small amount of oil in the rear sensor, the front sensor was dry. Thanks to your instructions, everything went well and I have hopefully avoided a future failure.
  10. Quiz: name this trim piece...bonus poing for Mopar illustration

It’s probably not the correct way, but on my four door, I first pried out the small piece that goes around the seatbelt, then pulled on the trim piece from around the edges. Its held on by 5-6 clips like you found (they go around mushroom-like metal protrusions), and numerous plastic and metal...
  11. PSA: Rubicon Locker Sensor Housing Factory Defect - Please read.

Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge with the rest of us. I just received my order of gear lube and potting epoxy. If my sensors contain oil, it is my understanding that before potting them, I should drain the oil and flush them out with an electronic contact cleaner (I have a...
  12. Quiz: name this trim piece...bonus poing for Mopar illustration

Actuaiiy, I think it is #7 in the drawing you referenced. I broke one taking my quarter panel off. If you don’t have a rattle in one of your quarter panels, I wouldn’t worry about it.
  13. ESS Dual Battery Management

Bill, very nice and clean looking (I too tend to be on the picky side). Looking at your engine compartment, one would never know that you have over 40,000 miles on your Jeep. Kudos to you. Jerry, do you plan on selling these kits? If not, would you mind providing a list of components, in...
  14. ESS Dual Battery Management

Jerry, I appreciate the effort you have put into this project, and have done my best to follow what you are doing (it would have been easier for me to follow had the discussion not been sidetracked by the discussion of the the Genesis system). I have followed the various iterations of your...
  15. Automatic Transmission Failure

I missed this thread when I made my initial post. Thanks for letting me know about it. I’m planning a trip back to Moab mid-November. Based on the experience of a few others, I think I’ll drive my Jeep as much as possible before heading off-road. Where we are plan to go would be a very difficult...
  16. Automatic Transmission Failure

Update:. Dealer replaced the valve body under warranty, and found no other problems. Jeep seems to be running fine. The dealer said that they have had no other incidents of a valve body failure on a JL, and judging by the lack of replys to this thread, neither have other forum members.
  17. Automatic Transmission Failure

I paid and have submitted for reimbursement from FCA. It will be interesting to see how that goes.
  18. Automatic Transmission Failure

Thanks. Much more complete and relevant answer than I found.
